During World War I, when the soldiers left to war the women had to become accustom to not having the male present. This resulted in many of the women having to take over the male roles, and adhere to a new way of life economically, socially and emotionally. These Kiwi women based in Wellington in 1915, worked together in order to provide the New Zealand soldiers participating in the war with socks and warm clothing. Women, before the war, were generally classed as homemakers (Kim, 2003), however when the war took place a lack of income left many women replacing men in their roles of work (Martin, 2009). These women had to adjust and become accustom to looking after their families and taking on other daily roles that were not in their everyday schedules before the war.
These women took it upon themselves to “provide the comforts that soldiers needed in their kit bags: two pairs each of socks and underpants, two each of woolen shirts and undershirts, towels and cholera belts, and one handkerchief, chest protector, pair of braces, holdall, balaclava cap, service bag for rations, and a housewife.” (“Women fundraising for Belgium, First World War”, 2013. Para 7). They would send them over for the New Zealand soldiers in the war, hoping to contribute the best they could.

This is the third day of overwhelming humidity. I cannot take it much longer: I will soon run out of clean undershirts. It was almost painful to drink my first cup of hot coffee in the morning, and that's really no way to live. I spent several hours today in my room listening to electronic music and typing up lists of e-mail addresses that have been collected on the Found Tour, and walked four miles across town to meet someone else involved with the magazine. I think my feet are getting blisters from my Birkenstocks (which somehow hasn't happened in the year that I've owned them), and all I could find to take a picture of was the ugly, polluted Huron River, which cuts through the northern part of "Ace Deuce," as the locals call this city. Tomorrow I will start opening some of the finds people have sent in in the past month or so. Perhaps I'll find some inspiration there....

Presented here is a recent commissioned 1:6 Scale Tailoring work based on the outfit worn by Walter Slezak as the Clock King in the 1960s Batman show.
The clothing set consists of a two piece black suit jacket, matching trousers, white undershirt with black neck tie and black cloak adorned with Red lining and velvet collar. The costumes set is also adorned with various clock faces based on the TV Show look.

This is the first of 11 photos I took today, Sunday, 31 August A.D. 2025, as a photo session I've titled "In a Mellow Yellow Mood".
Besides the opaque bright yellow tights and the yellow dress shirt I'm wearing, I'm also wearing a yellow thong under my tights and a yellow sheer nylon athletic undershirt beneath the dress shirt. I suppose you could also include my platinum/gold Knickerbocker pants and the vest that are 2 pieces of a 3-piece sharkskin suit. Even my 3-tone shoes (mostly beige and dark tan) have yellow stitching on the front of each shoe.

Ralph has been completely deboxed, and is free standing with his arms up, as he is originally posed in the box.
He is 14'' tall to the top of his head, or 15'' to the top of his upraised arms. He is 15'' wide, and 6'' thick. He is very stable standing upright, or sitting down. If you move his right arm, or push a button on his upper back, he makes sound effects while saying his catch phrase ''I'm goin' a wreck it!'' When you press a button in his chest, he says one of several phrases from the movie. He has three layers of removable clothing, dark red overalls with his left suspender loose, orange shirt, and green partial undershirt.
He has articulated arms, head, legs and upper body. His arms can rotate about the shoulders a full 360 degrees in the vertical plane. However, the way his arms are linked, his right arm (on the left in the photos) always springs back to the up position. Whereas if his right arm is held steady in the up position, his left arm can be rotated to any position and stay there. His head rotates about a plane tilted about 45 degrees from the horizontal. His upper body rotates 360 degrees about his waist (constrainted by his clothing). Finally his legs rotate 360 degrees about a plane 45 degrees from the vertical, so he sits with his legs splayed out in a split. He has bare, very large flat feet. Finally, he has huge hands at the end of very thick arms with elbows bent in a fixed position.
Received my Talking Ralph Action Figure on November 26, 2012, from the US Disney Store. Photographed boxed, during the deboxing, and full deboxed, both alone and with comparable dolls. Unlike what some of the reviews state in the DS website, my Ralph was packaged very carefully, with other Wreck-It Ralph merchandise, and arrived in perfect condition. I have played with him for a couple of hours now with no problems, and he seems solidly built.

This is the first of 14 photos that together constitute Part 2 of a 2-part photo session taken Monday, 21 August 2023. The title for this Part 2 is "Bodybuilding in Sheer Black Pantyhose & Undershirt".
Before the bodybuilding session in my home gym, I'm seen preparing a fruit smoothie as an energy-booster an hour before the 5:15 p.m. start of the workout. If you're curious, the smoothie is 12 oz. Skim Milk, 2 scoops Vanilla Ice Cream, 8 Strawberries, about 1/3 of a Mango, and half a large Peach, plus spices (Cinnamon, Allspice, and Almond Extract). Delicious ... and about 20 grams of protein!
Not the cleanest of photos, but after much work I finally got it to cooperate. Believe it or not, it's actually quite difficult to capture the detail of white on white! :lol: Around 10 - 12 hours working on the pattern, making sure it was consistent length to the corset/gown from previous work and had all the necessary details.
Based heavily on the MMO Yohoho! Puzzle Pirates swashbuckler's jacket from in-game.
Here we have Dartwith of Midnight's (and I'm sure he's dock tarting on other oceans) signature swashbuckler's jacket colors - white/lime. Since all swashies have an undershirt that is also white, it's a difficult - nay, impossible - to see the full detail I actually put into this pattern. There simply aren't two shades of white beads for me to work with that would've made sense. Future swashies made by my hand won't use white as the main color.
Gold, white, and lime glass seed beads on white nylon. Black nylon used on the sash to give it a less stiff feel, and more flow. The sash ends do hang loose from the rest of the pattern. The waist for this is much larger than any of the dresses I have done in the past, and does not fit over a pen nicely in the least. It's much more finger puppet sized in that regard.

This is the first of 10 photos I took on Sunday, 10 November 2024, as a photo session I've awkwardly titled "It's a Blue Day and a Brownies Day".
The blue in the title refers to the primary color element of my wardrobe for that day -- blue opaque tights, blue thong under my tights, blue dress shirt, blue sheer nylon athletic undershirt beneath my dress shirt, and dress shoes that are mostly blue with black accents. Even my beige plaid Knickerbocker pants and vest (2 parts of a 3-piece suit) have thin blue lines woven into the pattern.
The brownies in the title refers to the batch of Double Dark Chocolate Brownies I baked that afternoon ... and that my husband Bill and I got to sample later that night as our after-dinner dessert.

Mabel has round blushing cheeks, long brown hair that reaches her hips, her eyes are the same brown as Dipper's, and she has silver coloured braces. Mabel's apparel varies for each episode, more so than any other character's, with at least one new outfit usually consisting of a sweater, undershirt, skirt, headband, black shoes, white socks, and occasionally earrings, though she does deviate from this look occasionally. as a cartoon her proportions are having a big head
