Guess it's not necessarily under the boardwalk, but more like beneath the fishing pier. Pictured here is a shot of an Outer Banks sunrise, as seen from under Jennette's Pier. The image was captured shortly after the sun was lifting off the horizon.
Jennette's Pier is one of the more famous and popular fishing piers found along the Outer Banks of North Carolina, and has been around in one form or another since 1939.
The original pier took a significant beating by Hurricane Isabel back in 2003, and was rebuilt into the 1000 ft. hurricane resistant structure seen here -- employing concrete pylons (instead of wooden ones) to help weather extreme storms.
Many piers along the NC coast have been damaged over the years, and had to either be repaired to resist hurricanes or demolished altogether. The North Carolina Aquarium estimates that out of the 36 North Carolina piers in operation in 1980, only 20 still remain open today. *

About 45 minutes before daybreak with passing clouds being hit by moonlight, and the ground under that moonlight. It was quite amazing to be out there in the peaceful morning as the land came to life under that light.

St Albans Cathedral. Old gravestones under a very old tree. Even older is the Cathedral, and older than that are some of the materials it was built from - Roman bricks and blocks taken from the ancient city of Verulamium.

The sheer scale of the Tyne Bridge is evident as a couple walk under the bridge along the River Tyne.
As I mentioned a few days ago, I am now adding in archived unpublished shots from my collection as I am no longer shooting street to reduce my risk with the current pandemic. I hope that these shots are up to scratch for you all!
