This picture is a drawing of an idea I have had for some time about the Bunkers' car breaking down and having to stay at the Addams Family. Because I know Archie Bunker would be prejudiced against the Addams family.
Ricky treated me to a night at the Addams Family musical on Broadway. This is the Lunt-Fontanne theater. It was a great show, very funny, especially Uncle Fester.
We sat in the first row of the mezzanine and they were fantastic seats.
I'm reprising a costume my sister made for me some years back.
I hope you recognize the character-- it's Uncle Fester from The Addams Family. He's been portrayed by Jackie Coogan (TV series; Addams created the name when it aired-- he didn't have a name before) and Christopher Lloyd (first two movies- The Addams Family and The Addams Family- Values).
This light bulb trick is actually pretty simple-- a push-button switch engages the circuit powered by batteries (which can be replaced :-) ). I bought the bulb from an Amazon-affiliated vendor, and it's marketed as a magic trick.

Today was the annual Springfield Christmas Parade. I hadn't been to one since I was a kid, so it was a special treat to see one after all these years. Despite the cold, it was a good time.
This year's theme dealt with the movies, thus the Addams Family in a Christmas Parade.

There are certain things I will always owe a debt of gratitude to for the public library in the town I grew up in (I lived three doors down so I was what you'd call a "regular"). One of the treasures was a nearly complete collection of Chas. Addams' work in glorious over-sized hardbound tomes. If you've never experienced the gallows humor of the original Addams Family, you're really missing out. It's like a less-proper Edward Gorey, Victorian hints crossed with a bizarre "Mad Men" style. Here's a sample for your peepers!
Vicki just happened to come to the Hammonds' Halloween party in a complementary outfit to mine. Perfect!
He was standing in the midst
of a crowd of pedestrians in motion
on Arizona Avenue Third in Santa Monica.
There was much motion all
around him but he was standing still.
He is very short -dwarf-like, in fact.
I noticed him immediately and
requested a photograph. He just looked at me
quizzically. I pointed to the camera and
mimed taking his photograph. He didn't say
yes or no, and I took two,
of which this is one. I SO wanted to take
his photo - as i did a couple of other
folks in Santa Monica who
said no. But he didn't say no
and I am so glad
as that moment, that
quick instant, of recognition,
now is a something,
a photo i keep.
isn't photography a miracle?

For ANSH # 13 - A character portrait
Uncle Fester is a regular at the Doo Dah Parade and the Queen Tryouts. He got out on the dance floor while there were still few people to pose for a photo-op. This is also a frame capture from video.
You will see this image in Part One, if only in the opening credits:
Uncle Fester feels the new photostream is too "busy" compared to the original way. Uncle Fester wonders if there is a happy medium somewhere -- not to be confused with the happy medium who delighted in contacting the dead relatives of his and his nephew Gomez and his wife Morticia.
Uncle Fester also wonders what every one of Robb's contacts thinks of the videos he has made so far of the 2013 Doo Dah Queen Tryouts. If you haven't seen them yet, here they are:
First, the promo:
Then, Part One:
And, now, Part Two:
Uncle Fester wants you to know Robb is editing Part Three right now. And, by the way, this image is a frame capture from video, cropped.
