G20 summit in Hamburg had no winners. Politically the results of the summit were minor. Socially, the city was left divided. Personally everyone was happy it was over. Peaceful mass-protest was overlaid by pictures of burning cars, barricades, looted shops and police violence. The political argument now is blaming the “other side” and drawing the attention away from the fact, that this event should have never happened in a city like Hamburg in the first place. Time will tell if any conclusions are drawn, responsibilities are taken or if it’s “soldier on” until the next event.

This is a reprint of two classic works, "Houdini's Escapes" (1930) and "Houdini's Magic" (1932). These books provided the most complete description available of Houdini's feats and how he performed them. Walter Gibson prepared them after Houdini's death in 1926, from the magician's private notebooks and with the assistance of his widow, Beatrice, and of Bernard Ernst, then president of the Society of American Magicians.
"It will soon become apparent to the reader that, although Houdini was daring, he never took an uncalculated risk. He would not accept a challenge unless he was sure he could meet it. He was physically fit, an athlete, and a strong swimmer. Yet his assistants were poised to rescue him if he didn't surface on schedule from an underwater box. A dozen less careful performers have been drowned, or seriously injured, because they attempted this feat without sufficient knowledge, or without taking the necessary precautions." -- Milbourne Christopher
Author Walter B. Gibson, after completing "Houdini's Escapes and Houdini's Magic" in the early 1930s, turned to fiction writing, creating the famed pulp hero of Lamont Cranston, also known as the Shadow. Under the pen name of Maxwell Grant, he wrote novel-length stories for "The Shadow Magazine" for more than fifteen years. These novels were adapted for the Shadow radio program and, today, they have been reprinted in paperback and hardcover editions. Under his own name, Walter Gibson has written many other books in the fields of magic, games and the occult.
Location: Geonosis
Transmission from: CC-1094 “Creb”
The AA cannons hit our LAATs hard. It did an A+ crash landing in order that we come out. It was a bit uncalculated by the pilot, so, he and the gunner died in the deadly collision with a thick sandstone. Pixel, Axe and Spice had jumped out time before into the soft sand, while I and the rest of the squad had to experiment what it is like to crash into a thick vibro armored elephant.
We were trained for fast reaction, no dizziness, we fastly got up and I tried to communicate with the rest of our squad’s troopers, but it was useless. So, all we could do for the moment was to unload some supplies and wait for a signal. Waiting, patience, in the wide and open sands of Geonosis, waiting as an easy target…

Revenge
The bigger your life project becomes, the more likely you are to come across people who get involved in your project and eventually stab your back.
Through the Smart Doll project I've had a few jabs to my back but the important thing was to move forward instead of spending time and resources to take a jab back - while very tempting, if you devote time to stabbing somebody back, it means that taking revenge has become more important and you will loose focus on your goal. It also means that the person who stabbed you has won because they got to stab you and also got you to give up on your goal.
Instead, use your anger and channel that into wanting to do everything to complete your goal sooner because the likelihood is that the person who you once worked with who stabbed your back will be watching your progress all the way and when you reach your goal then you have delivered the fatal blow - the humiliation of your backstabber watching you succeed.
This also applies to trolls on and offline. These days, I get trolled for anything and everything - does not really matter until the trolls start to tell malicious lies to gather recognition from their peers.
One of the reasons why trolls do what they do is because they do not have the ability to accomplish much in real life but gaining your attention gives them a sense of achievement.
Never ever react against a troll - instead of using your anger to counterattack with small clumsy uncalculated blows that will leave you feeling embarrassed afterwards, use your energy to aggressively continue to achieve your goals and live well.
I want my trolls to know that whenever I achieve my goals - this is what my face looks like when thinking of you. Please keep up the trolling - it really does me wonders.

glimpse 6/52; winnowed essentially.
i've just emerged from a wholly craptastic week and i needed to take myself lightly, have some fun. i think i succeeded here...and i feel about 1000 times better.
i was only going to post one selfportrait this week. but when i waded through the bulk, i really really just couldn't decide between pinhead me and headless me. i'm offering this to the pool, unless i change my mind.
here, too, there's a bit of an uncalculated diptych sort of feeling.
