Cox's Bazar Beach, located at Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh, is the longest unbroken sea beach in the world, running 125 kilometers. It is the top tourist destination of Bangladesh. At high tide the beach is 200 metres (660 ft) wide and at low tide it is 400 metres (1,300 ft) wide on average.

This awesome sandy beach overwhelms any visitor with its pristine beauty.

I am awfully greedy; I want everything from life. I want to be a woman and to be a man, to have many friends and to have loneliness, to work much and write good books, to travel and enjoy myself, to be selfish and to be unselfish… You see, it is difficult to get all which I want. And then when I do not succeed I get mad with anger.”

" Fauvismus "

A postimpressionistic style development of the French painting in 1-st decade of the 20-th century (in 1905-1907). The Fauves (in French, savages) put instead of the broken colors of the impressionism unbroken, luminous color values in surfaces side by side, nevertheless, renounced completely symbolic salary and social-critical statements. Their special predilection counted for the complementary colors: Yellow it was put beside Violet, Red beside green, blue beside orange. In this manner they showed scenery and objects as well as human figures and gone away, besides, totally from the real appearance. The theory after which the Fauves worked says that complementary colors strengthen together used the visual color perception. If one puts them directly side by side, the strongest chromatic perception originates from it. General agents of the Fauvismus were a H. Matisse, A. Derain, A. Lhote, A. Marquet, M. de Vlaminck and R. Dufy; P. Bonnard and O Friesz were close to the Fauvismus.

A haiku is not a poem, it is not literature; it is a hand becoming, a door half-opened, a mirror wiped clean. It is a way of returning to nature, to our moon nature, our cherryblossom nature, our falling leaf nature, in short, to our Buddha nature.

It is a way in which the cold winter rain, the swallows of evening, even the very day in its hotness, and the length of the night, become truly alive, share in our humanity, speak their own silent and expressive language.

Haiku: Eastern Culture, 1949, Volume One, p. 243.

The snow-capped peak on the right is called Broken Top, but I personally can't see how this majestic mountain could be fixed or improved upon. Sunset over Sparks Lake for a second night in a row.

Unbroken is a biography of World War II veteran Louis Zamperini, a former Olympic track star who survived a plane crash in the Pacific Theater, spent 47 days drifting on a raft, and then survived more than two and a half years as a prisoner of war in three Japanese POW camps.

*** for a tired heart... please know that God is holding you in His hands.

Been away for awhile but wanted to experiment with Kentmere 400, doing exposure at EI200 with Xtol (alone). Was pretty happy with these results, with present but not overwhelming grain, and good tonality and detail. This is a good combo, I think, and better than exposing at EI400. Thanks top the flickeranians who continue to inspire!

Another one of Scott's and my trips around downtown Detroit, where we stumbled upon a HUGE pile of buoys and chains stored for a short time in a parking lot.

From a viewpoint on the road to Gleneig. To the right in the distance are the 5 peaks known as the 5 Sisters. Loch Duich

below.

The hills to the north-east of Glen Shiel are known as the Five Sisters Of Kintail (Gaelic: Còig Peathraichean Chinn Tàile, although the name is not derived from the Gaelic), and form a high ridge some 8 km (5.0 mi) long rising steeply from Glen Shiel to a maximum height of 1,067 metres (3,501 feet). According to legend, the five sisters are the oldest of seven sisters, as the youngest two sisters fell in love with two Irish princes who washed ashore during a storm. Their father would only allow them to marry once the older sisters has also been married, and so the princes agreed to send their other five brothers once they had returned to Ireland with their new wives. Although the princes failed to appear, the five sisters continued to wait, eventually turning into mountains to extend their vigil into eternity. The five distinctly pointed summits (Sgùrr na Ciste Duibhe, Sgùrr na Càrnach, Sgùrr Fhuaran, Sgùrr nan Saighead and Sgurr na Moraich) are a well-known landmark and a popular hillwalking expedition. Three of the Five Sisters, which are all over 3,000 feet, are classified as full Munros, with the other two being subsidiary Munro tops.

The ridge containing the Five Sisters continues unbroken to the east where it takes in a further three Munros (Sgùrr a' Bhealaich Dheirg, Sàileag and Aonach Meadhoin) which are often known as the Brothers of Kintail. Beinn Fhada (Ben Attow) is the other main mountain in the area.

Back for a day. Thought I would upload one shot and check all my contacts photos before I depart again for a week.

Captured this while at a conference in Asilomar CA. Shot in RAW and added a high pass filter to sharpen a bit, and that's all.

A sunny cold day at Sawpit Bay on eastern Lake Superior- -about 80 km north of Sault Ste. Marie Ontario.

Fast ice is an extensive unbroken sheet of ice that is “fastened” to the shoreline or shoals; the ice forms from freezing temperatures (air and water), waves, drift ice, and snowfall. The fast ice at Sawpit Bay is about a meter thick.
