Steve & I posing besides the "Bronze Fonz" on Riverwalk Way. This sculpture by American artist Gerald P. Sawyer, depicts "The Fonz," a character in the television series "Happy Days", which was set in Milwaukee.

The sculpture, made of bronze, depicts actor Henry Winkler as he appeared in his role as Arthur Fonzarelli (also known as "Fonzie" or "The Fonz"), an iconic character in the 1970s television show Happy Days, a sitcom about a family in 1950s–1960s Milwaukee. He stands in his usual attire, a leather jacket and jeans, and gives a two-handed thumbs up gesture, as he often did in Happy Days.

The sculpture was unveiled on August 18, 2008. Most of the Happy Days cast, including Winkler, Marion Ross (who played Marion Cunningham), Tom Bosley (Howard Cunningham), Erin Moran (Joanie Cunningham), Don Most (Ralph Malph), and Anson Williams (Warren "Potsie" Weber), attended the dedication ceremony. Winkler referred to the statue as "unbelievable."

What a truly unbelievable site! Located in the Southeastern section of the Rocky Mountain National Park, in the Longs Peak area, Chasm Lake is one of those special places that will make a lasting impression on all that brave or should I say, endure the 4 mile hike to its majestic setting. In order to try to capture the epic beauty of the lake, I had stitch together 6 images because of the shear size of the scene. My goal was to help the viewer be able to get a feel for the immense size of the scene. In the background is the Summit of Long's Peak with the famous vertical rock wall underneath it know as 'The Diamond!' P.S. Be aware that if you come to this site in the summer, you better come early, or else you will be like me and have to park literally a mile down the road which will add an extra 2 miles to your adventure.(just saying)....

This tilework is UNBELIEVABLE... each of those is a piece of glazed masonry, cut and fit together!!! We watched a master workman doing this and still couldn't believe it.

I am so grateful to HORIZON for teaching me (through his example) how to photograph this stuff - always straight on - don't mess with the sacred geometry.

It is unbelievable that we have completed our fifth week of camp. On Tuesday, everyone had the opportunity to join all the campers in the much awaited “Waterworld” activities. The day was filled with excitement as many of the children, climbed on the floats and drove their bumper cars. A terrific time was had by all.

This week’s theme was “Wild, Wild Willows.” To celebrate our theme the children created fabulous western photo frames to showcase their ability to ride their favorite pony Magic. In Ceramics the Tadpoles and Minnows had fun making their faces out of clay. Make sure to look on the website for all of our fabulous pictures. Everyone is having lots of fun!

Our wonderful week ended on Friday when the Willows danced and sang to a mix of pop songs at “Puttin’ on the Hits.” The children were adorable The excitement will continue over the next three weeks. On Tuesday July 31st, we are looking forward to watching “Puppets Pizzazz” In the sixth week we will be painting.

Practically the whole day looked this amazing!

The FIRST guy we bump into, 10 year, long time friend NOEL, from Ireland. Is this world small or WHAT

This image is NOT a collage. This is a billboard ad as I've seen on a street one day. Hard to believe, but there you have it.

taken at 6.30am this morning, still all blurry eyed, and uncoordinated.

it's now just 9.15am and i have already been blessed with so much love from family and friends. not to mention this little baby that i need to share with all you photo lovers out there. and a scanner is coming.....who's a very very very happy girl then?!

Most definately the best experience of my life!!

spring flowers in december...way too early

Okay, so the grad student who works for me came in to the office the other day to tell me that there was something that I had to get a photo of.

There is a tall stairway in the building with a huge glass wall that unfortunately confuses a lot of birds who don't see it until it's too late.

This imprint of one sad pigeon was left on the glass about thirty feet off the ground, with no way to get there other than, you know, to fly up there. So it's not a fake, even though it looks like something from a Coyote & Roadrunner cartoon.

No kidding. WIng prints, feathers, and his sad little face. How weird is this?

"The most fascinating aspect of the reproductive cycle in Megarhyssa atrata is the ovipositing behavior of the adult female wasps. Once a female has successfully mated she must first locate a host pigeon horntail larva, which burrows inside logs, fallen trees, or stumps at various depths. The preferred host larvae range in size from 7.1 to 31.7 mm in length. Exactly how females locate these larvae in their burrows is currently unknown but experts speculate that it is either via olfaction or auditory cues beyond a 60,000 to 10,000 cps range. With an unbelievably intense schedule this past week, I barely was able to do any partying or dancing out on the grid. Planning a birthday party in 3 days was not my cup of tea! LOL!

For those of us in Second Life who are busier than hell, we need quick parties and some dj's understand that very clearly.

DJ Particle aka Emi Halcali who usually can be found at Organica or Dementia Radio is one who has created what she calls "The 30 Minute Rave." It's for the raver on the go and boy, does she understand how busy a lot of us are here in Second Life.

No building of momentum, just a blast of high energy raver music cutting out the superfulous and getting right to the point. I love these little breaks. I can be building or preparing to go out to the ballroom (that's why I'm all dressed up...) and still get a little high energy psy before I totally fry out on whatever project I was working on. I can count on Emi to bring it.

Zap Hax at Electro Smog is another dj I listen to when I need these breaks. I never know what he is going to spin. From new to old, his catalogue must be enormous. I always enjoy myself there, and the people that are there are Zap's fans. I just love hanging out here.

Speaking of DJ Zap, he sent a tp over to me the other morning to come to New Berlin for an opening of their Alexa at Streetlife. The sims are well done with areas for newbies and SL resources. An open party was happening in the mall area and Zap was spinning.

I saw founder, January Lightfoot there dressed in a nice black suit watching over the event. I hung out here for more time than I had planned (it's hard to leave when Zap is spinning) and stayed for a couple hours.

Two beautiful pieces of art graced the area; one a large female figure w/ a ribbon-like texture and a large exterior wall piece of graphic color. Stop by and visit the New Berlin sims!

Detail of the 4th and innermost coffin of Yuya,

Egyptian Museum, Cairo.

On 5 February 1905 James Edward Quibell stumbled upon an unbelievably rich and little disturbed tomb. The occupants turned out to be Yuya (Joeja) and Tjuyu (Toeja), father and mother of Queen Tiye (Teje), the principal wife of King Amenophis III of the 18th dynasty. The small tomb was stacked to the ceiling with coffins and funery equipment of the finest quality so far to have come to light in the Valley of the Kings in Egypt. The tomb of Tutankhamun was still to be discovered 17 years later in 1922.

The city came by and cleaned up the previous garbage left under their no dumping sign, only to have it packed again with what looks like torn up house waste. People continually amaze and disappoint me.

The Mythology:

Presented by Aristophanes in Plato's Symposium, is that humans originally consisted of four arms, four legs, and a single head made of two faces, but Zeus feared their power and split them all in half, condemning them to spend their lives searching for the other half to complete them:

Before launching his speech, Aristophanes warns the group that his eulogy to love may be more absurd than funny. His speech is an explanation of why people in love say they feel "whole" when they have found their love partner. It is, he says, because in primal times people had doubled bodies, with faces and limbs turned away from one another. As somewhat spherical creatures who wheeled around like clowns doing cartwheels, these original people were very powerful. There were three sexes: the all male, the all female, and the "androgynous," who was half man, half woman. The creatures tried to scale the heights of heaven and planned to set upon the gods. Zeus thought about blasting them to death with thunderbolts, but did not want to deprive himself of their devotions and offerings, so he decided to cripple them by chopping them in half, in effect separating the two bodies.

Zeus then turned half their faces around and pulled the skin tight and stitched it up to form the belly button. Ever since that time, people run around saying they are looking for their other half because they are really trying to recover their primal nature. He says some people think homosexuals are shameless, but he thinks they are the bravest, most manly of all, and that many heterosexuals are adulterous men and unfaithful wives. Aristophanes ends on a cautionary note. He says that men should fear the gods, and not neglect to worship them, lest they wield the axe again and we have to go about with our noses split apart.

The Explanation:

As explained by Gabrielle to a dying Iolaus: Once, a long, long time ago, all people had four legs and two heads. And then, the Gods threw down thunderbolts, and split everyone into two. Each half then had two legs, and one head. But the separation left both sides with a desperate yearning to be reunited, because they shared the same soul. And ever since then, all people spend their lives searching for the other half of their soul.

The Declaration:

I don’t believe in soul mates because I base a lot of my beliefs on what I feel to be true. I have never felt the presence of a god or any deity so I don’t believe in them. As far as soul mates go it would be a great thing to believe but it’s just preposterous to me. But the story is kinda sweet for those that do believe in stuff like that. It all gets lumped into that fairy tale, true love, soul mates blah blah blah category though. I mean it would be great to be able believe in stuff like that, that way you’re always searching, you always have a purpose, your life has meaning. If you don’t believe you pretty much have nothing to search for or feel connections with people other than just a friendly way. It’s not a nice way to live honestly.

If you can believe and/or feel like you’ve found it, never let it go and never stop believing, or you’ll lose a precious part of yourself that you'll never get back. You don’t want to live as an empty shell, just a hollow human being.

Best shot I could get. I hung around for 15 minutes waiting for an unobstructed view with no luck. Just a grab shot.

Donut Derelicts - Huntington Beach, CA

I prefer my photos to be viewed in full screen format.

It takes genuine talent to outshine an acting juggernaut like David

Hasselhoff. But, unbelievable though it may seem, the Hoff was once

upstaged by a car. And it wasn't just any old car, it was KITT, or to

give its full title, the Knight Industries Two Thousand. This sleek,

customized Pontiac Trans-Am was impervious to attack, could cruise at

300mph and was loaded with hi-tech armaments. It could even talk,

albeit in an incredibly camp, condescending voice. And now, thanks to

your hairy-chested friends at the Firebox Foundation, you can own a

fully-functioning, R/C version of one of crummy TV's greatest

vehicles. The Knight Rider R/C Car doesn't have a molecular bonded

shell, and it can't leap through the air (unless you throw it). It

does, however, travel forwards, backwards, left and right, and boasts

a 'turbo-boost' function. It also emits that familiar whooshing sound

and features a working red sensor on the hood. Best of all, this

tribute to an 80s legend talks when you hit a button on the

transmitter: 'I am KITT, whom you may regard as the voice of the

Knight 2000. As soon as you get behind the wheel (well fool around

with the transmitter) of this iconic vehicle the Knight Rider

memories will come flooding back: Michael's unfeasibly tight jeans,

Devon's plummy voice, April's incredible set of *ahem* wrenches and

that pulsating theme music. In fact, this beautifully built R/C car

is so evocative you might be tempted to buy an ill-fitting leather

jacket, get a perm and cruise the highways fighting crime. Or maybe

not. With whispers of a new series of Knight Rider in the pipeline,

there's never been a better time to make a total Hasselhoff out of

yourself. Whether you're a fan of the show or you just love

everything to do with the Hoff (and who doesn't?), buying a Knight

Rider R/C Car is your civic duty. After all, how else will you

champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless and the powerless in

a world of criminals who operate above the law? Exactly!

One word: Unbelievable :-)

It's snowing!!! Real snow falling in Lisbon for about 2 hours and still hasn't stoped! First time in my life I see snow here! It's crazy!

This gentleman is writing down his email adress. He asked me if I could send him the photos I was taking in the parking of the Office Center.

It is almost unbelievable to think that the permission to erect a statue of major Isaac Brock on the plinth in front of the town church has been granted with the proviso that it only remains on site for a period of two years, Major Brock was a Guernsey man who fought at the battle of Quebec, I have suggested that if the statue is removed after two years then perhaps Queen Victoria, Prince Albert and Victor Hugo goes with them, to date I have received no replies

how could I describable in a letter the undescribable feelings?
