Few butterflies were seen on our walk back along the dirt road either, but I got photos of a couple of the less common Acraeas.
There doesn't appear to be other photos of this species in the wild on Flickr at present.
At about the only spot where there were a few butterflies that others were watching I managed to step into thick slushy mud and scare everything off!

I went back out about an hour after totality to check out the view as the moon left the earth's shadow. This shot and the other are taken about the same time with different exposures so that you can see either the lit portion of the moon, or the part that's still in the earth's shadow.
