The Burj Dubai is going to be the World's Tallest Building in 2009.
In what has been an epically bad week for almost every aspect of photography around here, there was the Great Wide and Slim Exposure Debacle of June 2012. I asked my daughter to rewind the roll of film in the UWAS while I shot with another camera. Unfortunately, I failed to check before opening the camera, and it was not completely rewound. I had it scanned anyway, just to see what the effect would be. The bulk of the pictures were unsalvageable, But the first few I'd taken were kind of okay.
This one was the least damaged. I kind of dig it's all over faded look.

This shot marks the place where the pictures become a total loss, but I kind like the way the swathe of light travels across the image, almost like a supernatural force or something.
Vivitar Ultra Wide & Slim / Fujicolor Superia 200
Vuescan fucked this one up but I thought it looked kinda cool so I left it the way it was.
Estrenando mi nueva cámara:
Ultra Wide and Slim.
Si me recomiendan otro, genial.
i took these within an hour of the tornadoes that hit here on april 27, 2011. all i had on me was my vivitar ultra wide and slim and a disposable that's a few years out of date. i'm really proud of my vuws on these because i happened to have 200 speed film in it that day and with the light conditions, i was expecting them to be way underexposed. i adjusted levels and made some b/w. that's about it. i work about a block from here and felt the entire thing. it's changed life as everyone knew it to say the least.
June 09, 2007. Cross-Processed Fuji Velvia Slide. (No Photoshopping whatsoever.)
From my blog: www.newlywedindubai.com
It woke me up on a Sunday, an hour before the sun.
It had me watching the headlights out on highway 591.
Till I stepped into my trousers, till I pulled my big boots on,
I walked out on the Mesa and I stumbled on this song
Oh, it's enough to be on your way,
it's enough just to cover ground, it's enough to be moving on.
Home, build it behind your eyes, carry it in your heart, safe among your own.
So long, old gal.

This woman came out of this cab screaming for some reason. I tried to capture the confused expressions of the onlookers, but the frame didn't turn out as I had hoped.
I did a film swap with Karly! I took my photos over winter break in California, and she took hers in Virginia. Really stoked about the results :)
Long before Occupy Wall Street, protesters set-up camp at the base of the White Tower in Thessaloniki. Just as OWS was moving into Zuccotti Park, the White Tower "indignants" were being evicted.

I finally bought one. I'm gonna have a lil' fun with this before I splurge on the Blackbird, fly. All I have to do now is buy some film.
