Return Leg of the GBRF Charity Tour @ Arrivain

Sunset with the Har @ Scotston

Patchy light with the weekly Steam to Aberdeen

Arriving into Arbroath with a decent 12 ICA load, if I can count

Shoebox to Polmadie before the line closes for engineering works (Sunday 23rd) @ Drumlithie *Taken with aid of small giraffe

In its new livery, the only place for a decent shot, Dundee. 006 with a simple 6 twin load of 5 to Craiginches

Running the ECS to Tweedmouth, 90039 and 67006 head towards Tweedmouth (Berwick)

Another week of slurries, 815 being a short straw 70…….sadly the bland colours around Carmont made the white balance off!

End of May nearing June, 68006 running early due to Scotrail Strikes

Between all 3, loco > Box > Semaphore @ Laurencekirk, simple 6 load back to Oxwellmains

Before the better lens came, 70/300mm was the main choice, obviously quality isn’t as good, sorry. The shot mind was an icy wake up and cycle to see 800104 @ Stonehaven

Daytime Rail Grinder back to Rugby, partly stops at Dundee and Carlisle for changeovers. Here, at a wet Carmont! Hopefully no loss for the quality giving the conditions

Almost a sunny skipper! Class 67006 en-route to Stonehaven > forward to Aberdeen. For once, this tour finally ran after being cancelled 2 years in a row……Here seen on the decline from Carmont into Stonehaven

After seeing it up at Dunkeld, a quick get away plus the HST in front at Blackford being +8 late, made the shot doable. Class 68s for the Inverness Tesco being quite the odd variety after last years failings. Class 68002 away to underpass the A9 @ Blackford

Gold for the Aberdeen Containers @ Scotston

37097 next to 26014 at Bridge of Dun, sadly the 37 wins the approval. Still a well done for what happened earlier this year! Time has flown by, as this was taken in April!!

In the crowds of people, thousands, 37425 prepared the run round to form 1Z31. Shame 37425 got shoved behind 37407 as some shots would’ve been preferred the other way…..oh well. Turn out mind, confirms the 37s where preferred more than booked 20s and a 33!

Daily Modal up the East @ Carmont

Almost been 3 years since Abington Bridge was knocked down and now 3 years on has been given the money to be re-built. How time flys! This shot being the first taken on the DSLR, definitely a fluke to what I’ve posted in the past. Anyway, 43305 and 43306 on 1E15 @ Castleton

Only class of freight that runs the Aberdeen/Dundee line unfortunately……..6A65 with an IWA van and 13 JPAs passes Carmont (nearer Tewel) to Aberdeen!

Revised B28 to Edinburgh @ Carmont

Later Monday run, not 6A34 but 6A86 (might have ended out being 6A68) Class 70811 with 10 Empty tanks to Aberdeen Waterloo @ Carmont

Returning with Pathfinders DRS Railtour, Class 37425 and 422 work possibly the last DRS 37 railtour for the records. Here seen @ Carmont

As the sun gradually gets more height, the earlier mornings allow the sleeper to be seen. As a trial on the way to work, managed to get 73966 passing the Mearns with the normal x5 Mk5 stock! @ Laurencekirk

Putting the power on, 68005 @ Craigo. Thought I’d try a different view from the bridge, ended out to work

Best 4 days by far for photos! The highlights of those have now been uploaded. Although not a HST or a 68, the normal return of the slurries to Aberdeen Waterloo. With 5 tanks seems a waste of a run from Workington! Class 70807 here @ Craigo!

45596 'Bahamas' 🚂 on 1Z52 'The West Somerset Steam Express' from London Paddington to Bishops Lydeard. Seen here 24th July near Frome after the heatwave had given away to thunder and drizzle.

Daily containers up the Aberdeen @ Dundee

Again for another week! Class 70802 shoved onto the slurries. Yet to have a 6 week runner like what 70813 did last year. Here at Boddin with Boddin point in the shot. Definitely a winner considering the cloudy bursts

I think it was 163 but might have been 164….. Here rounding the curve off Carmont towards Laurencekirk. The last of the sunny spells didn’t last….making this the last decent photo for the time being.

67020 en route to Inverness @ Castleton

Between the weeds, 68018 runs the daily modal to Aberdeen @ Castleton

On the approach to Dundee @ Magdalen Green

Dunno what to make, bastard driver an all for the whole run up and back. A fair few can agree.........

On its express return to Polmadie after the northbound run. Only the one coach, needed a test run after having some repairs done

A lot can be told in one photo! 2 years, the tragedy happened, being close to home and on the day…….will always remember. LNER Azuma rounding the curve to London KX @ Carmont

Passing one of the Bow of Fifes crossings, 66727 with Coalfish, Loaded Salmons, a crane and an empty flat……for unloading at Leuchars, where the fait of semaphores and a box to be fully decided…..good news only two to be taken down

The one time shot almost, giving the height of sun and geography of Carmont. The light exposure on the Class 70 sums up how low these days! Anyway, 70805 with 15 JPAs @ Carmont (Tewel)

Late night engineers at Portlethen before dropping two rails ahead of Januarys Engineering works

After a month out of service! Back in business, 003 back out on the stomping ground packing the miles on. Considering it was +9L making it perfect dodging the dull spell. @ Carmont

Daily Engineers from Carlisle to Crewe (6K05) seen at the summit of Ais Gill

With 37407 detached, 37425 gets the train ready to shunt back into Oban for the return leg to Carlisle

Making an odd appearance for the NE, due to a lack of 70s, the shed was put on 6A65. Sadly during a snow shower it passed Castleton. Luckily 6B36 ran with clear sky’s!!
