This view gives little indication of the steep slope of the main street down to Clovelly harbour. How a whole fishing village was built clinging to this gouge in the cliffs is a mystery. We climbed down on a dry, bright day; I'd be wary on the cobbles when they're wet or frosty, as they must be for a good part of the year.
These shots were taken by guesswork; my camera viewer doesn't deal very happily with sunshine. The solid-body electric uke is easy to carry around and use unplugged for quiet practice. That day I was learning Joe Jackson's 'Is She Really Going Out With Him?'
