Im Hochwald bei Uedem/Marienbaum am Niederrhein waren die Wanderparkplätze an diesem sonnigem Novembertag gut besetzt. Nach wenigen Metern war man jedoch gefühlt fast alleine unterwegs. Diese Naturwaldzelle war heute eine Augenweide im Novembernachmittagslicht.
Aber auch das gehört zum Hochwald: Vor 75 Jahren - -Feb../März 1945 - lieferten sich am Hochwald kanadische Panzertruppen und die deutsche Wehrmacht im Rahmen der Operation Blockbuster heftige Gefechte. Die Kriegsgräberstätten hier am Niederrhein sind Zeugen dieser unseligen Zeit.....

Bei dem derzeitigen frühlingshaften Herbstwetter muss man einfach vor die Türe gehen und sich aktiv betätigen. Für uns war der Uedemer Hochwald am Niederrhein die herbstliche Landschaftskulisse für eine Novembersamstagsmittagswanderung ....es war einfach schön...

Am ansonsten flachen Niederrhein bieten die Endmoränen eine landschaftliche Abwechslung durch ihre Topografie. Dies macht auch eine Wanderung im Uedemer Hochwald bei Uedem/Marienbaum interessant. Die Naturwaldzelle mit altem Baumbestand wirkte an diesem Novembertag wie ein Zauberwald auf mich...

Ein Novemberwochenende mit frühlingshaften Temperaturen und herbstlichen Farben vom Feinsten im Uedemer Hochwald am Niederrhein.

Am Ende einer Wanderung durch den Uedemer Hochwald konnte ich am Waldrand den farbenfrohen Übergang zwischen Tag und Abend festhalten. Ein schöner Herbsttag!
PS: DIE SCHATTEN SCHLAFEN NUR ist der Titel eines im Jahre 2000 im GRAFIT-Verlag erschienenen Niederrhein-Krimis von dem Autorentrio Leenders/Bay/Leenders.

Unterwegs im Hochwald bei Uedem am Niederrhein. Besonders eindrucksvoll war an diesem Wintertag die Naturwaldzelle bei seitlich einfallender Wintersonne.

Mostra de fotos contrapõe o Japão antigo e atual
A partir da questão “O que poderia mudar o olhar de um homem 100 anos depois de sua história?”, o fotojornalista Jonny Ueda e a jornalista Tina Andrade rumaram ao Japão com o objetivo de encontrar imagens que funcionassem como uma resposta. O resultado pode ser conferido na exposição “Kari Me” (“olho emprestado”) , que será aberto ao público no dia 17 de janeiro, no Espaço Cultural Banco Central do Brasil, em São Paulo.
A idéia da dupla era fazer o mesmo caminho feito por Tamamura Kozaburo, um fotógrafo popular da era Meiji (1868-1912), que captou cenas do dia-a-dia do arquipélago, na época do início da modernização do Japão (na foto acima, cerejeira em flor no parque Maruyama, em Kyoto). Com isso, Ueda e Andrade querem mostrar como os personagens das fotos mudaram em 100 anos. Entre as cidades retratadas estão Osaka, Tóquio, Kyoto e Kobe. Algumas imagens podem ser vistas na galeria de Tina Andrade.
O trabalho final reúne fotos antigas, coloridas manualmente por Kozaburo, e as atuais, feitas por Ueda, que utiliza equipamentos modernos de fotografia. A mostra foi a forma escolhida pela dupla para homenagear o centenário da imigração japonesa no Brasil.
A exposição tem caráter itinerante e, por onde ela passa, Ueda e Andrade doam uma cópia da obra Maruyama Tree – the splendor of the (n)light, que representou o Estado de São Paulo em um circuito internacional de arte brasileira pela Áustria, China e Tailândia, para ser leiloada. O valor arrecadado é doado à associação japonesa local como contribuição às comemorações do centenário.
“Kari Me” fica em cartaz até o dia 7 de fevereiro e tem entrada gratuita. O Espaço Cultural Banco Central fica na avenida Paulista, 1804.

The Boeing Collection
From a collection of some 500 Boeing slides that I've had scanned from my archives. I hope they will provide some enjoyment and nostalgia from a bygone age :)
A typical morning at Luton Airport...but I had rushed up that morning on the Green Line 727 coach to try and catch this rare visitor! And, as you can see, I just managed to see this Royal Brunei Airlines Boeing 737 on its delivery flight - it was on push back as I arrived at the airport, just giving me a couple of minutes to compose this shot! Luckily, the sun came out and illuminated the plane nicely. Rare and beautiful :) My log book states the callsign was BI009.
VR-UED c/n 21809 - Boeing 737-2M6C was delivered new to Royal Brunei Airlines in early March 1980, and joined the two others in the fleet VR-UEB & VR-UEC which had been delivered five years earlier. Although re-registered as VS-UED and V8-UED, the aircraft stayed with Royal Brunei Airlines for 10 years before being sold to Aloha Airlines as N805AL. Some 13 years later, the aircraft was sold again, to GE Capital Aviation Service and was only withdrawn around 2015.

I had gone up specially to Luton airport to view this ultra-rare Royal Brunei Boeing 737 VR-UED which had stopped off on its delivery flight. Arriving early in the morning in order not to miss it, I managed to get this second photo as the aircraft taxied off for departure! Straight into the sun for this one, unfortunately, but I had no choice. Rare and beautiful :) My log book states the callsign was BI009.

Con la llegada del Ryuzaki adolescente me ha dado por los uniformes japoneses. No se si todavia se usa el gakuran, pero he tirado por lo facil de coser y reciclar. Y me he animado tanto que me he sacado de la manga a Reika, una de las novias de Ryu tuvo en esa epoca... solo para usar ese uniforme de escuela pija! XDD
