Monochromatic? Not really he? All the shades of grey... from a true black to a pure white... as it should be!
Sometimes I just 'feeeeeeeeel' like this, a flower image in b&w...
I love the subtle tones, all the varied tones, that give the flower/petals/stems their texture, depth and form, their delectable shapes accentuated, extracted and emphasized without the colour. Don't you agree?

Last October my husband and I were excited to scrape enough together to spend a few days on the north shore of Minnesota! This was our first real, non work related vacation in years so we were excited even though we traveled simply. The first day, we got to know Duluth and how beautiful it is and how wonderful the food is. We especially loved touring Glensheen mansion. Duluth really stole our hearts. However, the north shore captured our souls!
We spent two days hiking and driving around the north shore along Lake Superior. And we had a blast. Our first stop was Two Harbors. We loved the town, especially Cedar Coffee Co, but couldn't wait to get out to Agate Bay to see the Two Harbors light! We spent at least an hour there walking out to the lighthouse and enjoying the beautiful nature. It was magical! We also loved seeing the giant iron ore docks and the ship loading up. Fascinating! I really hope to go back soon.

Walsingham in Norfolk is England's oldest shrine and is dedicated to Mary. The shrine itself was built in 1061 , 5 years before the Norman invasion of England. It was always known as England's Nazareth and was visited by pilgrims from all over Britain and Europe. it was visited by all the Kings and Queens of england from Henry 111 (c1226) through to Henry V111 . At the time of the reformation of course everything was destroyed and there is now only the outline of where the shrine was. The Augustinians built a priory near the site of the shirne and although that too was destroyed a wall or two remain to remind us of the magnificence of the buildings.

Motion blur on a model railroad can be a fascinating effect to work with, especially when there's more than one train moving. The operators on this HO scale layout slowed the trains a little as they passed, but nobody asked if I wanted to stop one of them.
