An other from the sunny Tuesday. I thought the light made some interesting effects here.
Used my 85mm prime lens at f2.8 to get a narrow DoF.

Drive by was a little blurry so I used a pencil sketch filter to bring out the flowers. But of course what really caught my eye was the trunk! Although the fence looked pretty new, I think it replaced an older one that the tree had grown around since there appear to be older posts behind the the slats and rails.
A twisted tree and Christmas lights at the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. I love the unique shapes of live oak trees, with their dark, meandering branches, and they look especially interesting when silhouetted against a canvas of lights.

As westbound trains emerge from the confines of lower Price Canyon, the grade eases to less than 1%, which is tabletop flat by Rio Grande standards.
Rio Grande train No. 77 from Pueblo, Colorado, stretches its legs as it curves along the Price River at the west switch Kyune, Utah.
This beautiful tower has just been finished in the centre of a large forest. The tower is 45 meters and there is a 800 meter walk to the top on the spiral walkway.

In the early 1950s my parents lived for 18 months in the USA, and brought from there a corkscrew for left handed people. I grew up using that "weird" device, which had to be turned in the "wrong" direction to work properly.
In the 1990s, while in Japan, I found an exactly identical crockscrew also for left handed people, and the familiarity with the device led me to buy it.
One day, when I had some friends having dinner at my place, one of them decided to uncork a bottle of wine and, no matter how much he tried, he couldn't do it. Frustrated, he asked me what was wrong with the corkscrew and I answered that it was for left handed people and he would have to turn it "the other way around". He looked at me utterly disappointed and said: "Only you would buy anything like this". :-D
Well , the twists and turns of these stairways remind me of this incident :-)

Well these bits of copper wire in different colours look rather straight for the " Twisted " challenge - however , they may be straight but each piece is made up of between two to five different coloured strands of wire . In the bottom left is part of the crank that is turned with the required number of pieces of wire and within seconds there is a twisted wire of varying colours ready for use in making jewellery , art pieces or whatever .

An old horseshoe tree twists and turns in a harsh natural environment.

Rund eine Autostunde entfernt von Oslo, auf einem Grundstück mit bewaldeten Hügeln und einem historischen Zellstoffwerk am Fluss Randselva, eröffnete der Geschäftsmann und Kunstsammler Christen Sveaas 1999 den Skulpturenpark Kistefos. Der im September 2019 ein-geweihte Neubau „The Twist“ von BIG Bjarke Ingels Group ergänzt das Areal um einen architektonisch außergewöhnlichen Ausstellungsraum. Der 60 m breite, mittig um 90 Grad gedrehte Riegel schlägt die Brücke vom niedrigeren Südufer zum höher gelegenen Nordufer des Flusses. Er dient gleichzeitig als Galeriegebäude, mit drei Ausstellungsbereichen auf rund 1 000 m²: einem zu einer Seite vollständig verglasten Raum mit weitem Panoramablick in die Landschaft, einem schmalen, 9 m hohen Raum ganz ohne -Tageslicht sowie dem eigentlichen „Twist“, der beide Bereiche verbindet. In diesem verdrehten Mittelteil werden Wände zu Boden- oder Deckenflächen – und umgekehrt. Das breite Fensterband aus der North Gallery findet hier seine Fortsetzung als schmal zulaufendes Oberlicht. Innerhalb der komplexen Konstruktion wollten die ArchitektInnen einen möglichst homogenen Raumeindruck schaffen, bei dem kein überflüssiges Detail von der Konzentration auf die Kunst ablenkt. Wände, Decken und Böden ließen sie daher einheitlich weiß lackieren. Sämtliche Technik „verschwindet“ für den Besucher unsichtbar hinter einer Wand- und Deckenverkleidung aus weißen Holzlamellen, die zudem eine Referenz an die typisch norwegische Bauweise darstellt.

Saturday Self Challenge: Twist/ed
Again, a tricky one for me this week. Firstly to find something with a twist - an old fence line finally provided the subject. To then get a photo I was reasonably happy with. was the next challenge. After that my computer decided it had no space for editing, so more fiddling to get that rectified. Finally, a result to post.
