Twisted and tormented branches in Padley Gorge.
Padley Gorge is a deep but narrow valley in the Peak District, Derbyshire between the village of Grindleford and the A6187 road. It is one of the furthest inland examples of temperate rainforest in the UK
This little curl of the petal on the Black Eyed Susan in my garden reminds me of a trait that runs in our family. I always twisted a strand of my hair as a comfort thing as I grew up and I still find myself doing it from time to time. We have two daughters and only the one daughter started doing the same thing as a child. Now she has two daughters and her one daughter does the same. She sent me a picture of her youngest with a twisted knot in her hair that was almost impossible to get out one morning. :) I will be sure to include that picture in the family photo albums I am making this summer!
Every evening I turn my worries over to God. He's going to be up all night anyway. Mary C. Crowley

This is one of the first photos I took at Hohenzollern castle on Monday. After climbing the hill on which the castle is located, you enter the building through several gates and over several drawbridges and get a first impression of what a labyrinth this castle is.
The flamingo, the symbol of beauty and elegance, is also a symbol of hope, joy and fun. A symbol of life and freedom.
Cheddar Gorge
Driving home from Wales on Sunday I stopped at Cheddar Gorge to meet up with my friend Scott for sunset.
This is a bit of a long one so settle down for a. nice cuppa...
We met in the car park at the pack of the gorge and took the slog up the hill to the top. Everything was going well until we got to the spot where we needed to set up and Scott had realised he'd lost his phone on the way up. So, off he went looking for it while I carried on watching the sunset.
I got a few shots off and finally, Scott came back, albeit empty handed and pissed off about losing his phone. We decided to call it a day, but ladies and gentlemen, there is a twist...
As we walked back in the fading light Scott stopped randomly at various places and called to his Google assistant on his phone, and thankfully near to the spot where he thought he'd lost it he shouted OK GOOGLE and low and behold, his phone heard him and lit up like a Christmas tree!! It was hidden near a tree and probably wasn't very visible during the daylight, but the wonders of modern technology and the darker light helped us find it with no bother.
So, in the end, it was a bit of a wasted journey for Scott but at least he'd found his phone and the evening wasn't a complete disaster.

Office block building next to the Monument in the city of London. The twists are made of aluminium and when its particularly sunny these keep the heat from building up in the offices. I have seen a lot of images of this building looking stunning in b&w but I kind of liked the colour version.
I wish there was such a leader.....;(
It requires to be recognized, and above all by leaders themselves, that consent and not fear of punishment or hope of reward constitutes, in fact, the mainspring of obedience, so that submission may never be mistaken for servility.
