Festiniog Railway no. 4 Palmerston climbs the spiral at Dduallt at the head of a short passenger train. Taken during a David Williams photo charter. [Pole, 3/6 sections (~4m)]

Following the three run-pasts further back up the hill, we then moved forward, to the more usual spots closer to the barn. As I'd done in November 2022, I went further to the left and used the pole to get extra height above the barn roof, although tweaked my position after the single run-past with Palmerston, shooting Hugh Napier and the tipplers stood slightly further to the right. The first run with the tipplers was in dull conditions, and then I stayed for the next two - but they both suffered to some degree from the loco exhaust either casting shadows on part of the train or blocking the view of the brakevan, plus the sun wasn't completely out on the whole train (but they weren't bad). As a result, I've uploaded another shot of Palmerston rather than of Hugh Napier.

I then moved to join the main gallery for further shots of the tipplers.

Deering Estate boat lagoon at sunrise. A rather drab sunrise but a combination of the sun going behind the clouds, f22 and the right shutter speed, combined with minimal tweaks in post and....voila.....a rather colorful sunrise. Magic!

The Royal Edward Victuallying Yard No.8 building (REVY C) is located at Darling Island Pyrmont and was formerly occupied by the Nav.

This is a heavily perspective corrected hand held panorama. Cutting the tops of the building off hides some of the distortion. As I shot this of centre (due to a huge yacht being in the way), I had to skew the façade considerably. None the less with some tweaking in Photoshop / NIK I am very happy with it.

Taken on a city walk with the new expanded city walk gang.

A note from Wiki, a Victualler is:

"A victualler is traditionally a person who supplies for the crew of a ship food, beverages and other provisions on a vessel at sea"

Also this heritage listed building was designed by one of Australia's most prominent architects, Walter Liberty Vernon.

The Fairy Pools.. A magical place, but the moment I took the shot, I had a dark negative mindset. I was halfway the trip to Isle of Skye and it didn't went as planned. And also this evening felt quite disappointing. But the moment I saw the picture back home and did my first tweaks in post-processing I saw potential and now I think it is one of my favorites. Amazing how a certain mindset can influence how you experience a certain moment. For the Dutch people, you can read more about my trip to Isle of Skye in my blog:

(tweaked in Smart Photo Editor)

I started to edit this photography to get the film look that I like so much...and realized...the picture already feels quite retro. So I quit the app and kept original, untouched image.

My second slightly brighter version of previous image from St. Marys as I was looking at it and decided that it was a bit too dark so i tweaked it a bit. I think it looks a bit better. Let me know what you think (if you want:)) Thanks for looking, all comments and faves are greatly appreciated.

Tips for if you want to try this:

1. Don't.

2. Lick your hand to warm it up. Disgusting, but it works wonders!

And yes, before the inevitable question is asked, I was cold. I was wearing a hoodie but I thought red would look better. What can I say? I'm photography's bitch.

Just some minor tweaks to my old Matrix of Leadership build

Final adjustments ahead of a concert by Talisk at St George's in Bristol, 22 May 2022. All rather blue-ish purple, but that's stage lighting for you.

A phone shot, slightly cropped. I took some other shots during the gig but they came out a wee bit blurred. If you've ever seen Talisk, you'll understand why. If you haven't, then you really should/

Pondered what this may look like in Mono ..
