Steampunk knickers tutorial for Threadbanger.

4. Cut along one of the seams of your band. Lay it flat and measure out the length of your band (i.e, the measurement around your leg that you took earlier)- mine's 14 inches. Cut the band to the appropriate length (with seam allowance!)

If you have larger legs, you may want to check before cutting the seams open to see if they are already the right size, or even too small- I ended up only cutting off about two inches!

Make four more.

Glue the five petals together to form a flower.

The tutorial for this block will post to stashbee.blogspot.com on 1 January 2014.

It's a simple and easy model, but I like the look of it. :-) There are many possible variations, I'm showing one in the video.

I hope you like it, if you fold it, please send me a picture at stephane@origami.plus Thank you!

This is what it looks like when you've sewn the sides to the main piece. Notice I sewed with RST, not the way I pinned it in the previous photo!!!!!

Then pink the seams, if you choose. Or serge.

These photos come from a tutorial I did on how to modify wide boots to fit the calf of the wearer.

Please note that there are two pages to this tutorial

Small note to people who add this to their favourites ... I freely share the tutorials. In return, the only thing I ask is that you do the same. Bottom line: block me from viewing your stuff, and I'll return the favour

Fold the solid line by destroying the dashed line

When I first started using my serger, I was loathe to change the threads to different colours. If you've ever had to rethread an overlocker, you know what a super huge pain it can be. Tiny little holes, deep in the machine and there's usually three or four threads. Mine needs some long handled tweezers, a sharp pair of scissors and heaps of patience. Somewhere along the way, my mum tipped me off that there's an easier method.
