- Me llamo María Huenchumán.

#2: Nature

so, this is part two of the Teleidoscope Project, and since i didn't want to do a literal meaning of nature, i decided to try something that i think represents nature.... indians:)

i kind of think of indians as the human form of nature , so i cut up an old t-shirt, threw on some face paint and a headband with some feathers and decided to take the less literal representation of indians, as well.

i started out my walk to "my spot" and as i came to the little pond on the way, i stopped to take some pictures near it. as i took off my shoes and walked over to wear i was going to stand for the picture, i realized the mud was not as solid as i thought, and my feet were then caked with mud.... so i went with it and wiped the mud, that was now on my hands as well, on my arms and legs.

i continued my "journey" to a small forest of bare trees, where, because i was shoe-less, it wasn't an easy task running back and forth from the camera...

after that i moved to the field of grasses and got a few more shots where i fell from a branch i was standing on and acquired several cuts.... oops.

after the sun was almost set, and a few people/families on the bike path near-by stopped and stared, i decided it was time to head home and wash myself off...

Go out, face up, willing to see more, then you will see it as much as you could.

“Our artists paint our anatomy selectively, and then leave us who look at the actual body scratching our heads wondering where's all the other stuff. Similarly, we tell the stories of the saints of old stripped of their human-ness, and then wonder where today's saints are. Those of old never existed in the idealized manner in which the hagiographers tell of them, any more than the impossible symmetrical perfection of the muscles in the anatomical chart. The saints of today are the broken and imperfect among us who nevertheless identify themselves and "the holy" in the ashes and the dust. They are your dancing grandmas who no longer care what you think, they are your alcoholic fathers broken by beauty and pain, they are in fact you, one layer deep of the mask.”

[Gil Hedley, Integral Anatomy]
