Shiprock - This huge volcanic neck was formed in Pliocene time, over 3,000,000 years ago. It rises 1,700 feet above the plain and is famed in the legends of the Navajo as the "rock with wings". They hold that it was the great bird that brought them from the North.

Shiprock is located in the Northwest corner of the state of New Mexico.
Taken with the Canon 7D and Canon 70-200L f/2.8 IS lens.
After shooting several photos at this location over the course of time, I was not completely satisfied with any of the shots that I had made. I decided that the timing was just not right and packed everything up and headed to my vehicle. Just as I was getting into the vehicle I took one more glance back (as I often do before I leave a location) and saw Shiprock come to life under the late afternoon sun. So, I set up again and was able to get this shot.
I always make it a rule to look back, or check the rearview mirror one last time before I leave a shooting location. I have experienced several instances where the shot is just not there no matter how much I try to make it there. Sometimes that one last glance over the shoulder pays off! It just shows that we are on nature's schedule!

Enjoying the user experience of this lens with the T/S functionality. Still getting used to it and loving the results. One thing to remind myself is not to go crazy on the T/S functionality, it can be overdone. Using this lens at 0/0 setting provides very good imagery, sharp! The 45mm focal length offers a great perspective.

My husband's friends the Tse's are on an adventure exploring the US all the way from Hong Kong. Their son, Sebby is pretty much the cutest baby ever.

After driving from the Channel Tunnel, I parked Hans, checked into the hotel, and ventured out into one of my favorite cities on Earth.
Very true to life exposure; I'm grateful for the clouds reflecting cloudy dusk colors. Four horizontal frames stitched vertically using the Canon 2x III Extender making the POV 48mm, thirty second exposures at various apertures. Ten stop ND filter and CPL used.
