This 1965-spec car is a copy of an original car, to the original specification and with FIA Period F papers. The reason for it being painted in the Ecurie Francorchamps scheme of AC Green with a yellow band is that James and the team didn't want the car to try and pass as an original Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe with its distinctive blue colour, and it was felt that had Ecurie Francorchamps run this car in period, it would have looked this way.
At the 74th Members Meeting, James Cottingham put this car on pole for the Graham Hill Trophy race with a time of 1:24:302, leaving Bradley Ellis in second place in the 1963 Jaguar E-Type Semi-Lightweight with a time of 1:25:190. Come race day, and James took this Shelby American Daytona Cobra Coupe to victory, also setting a best lap time as well of 1:23:981, quicker than the qualifying time set the previous day.
Shot here in the paddock after that victory, with the wreath of green and yellow matching the Ecurie Francorchamps livery quite nicely as well.

This particular Maserati 300S (S/N 3059), currently owned by Scuderia del Viadotto and raced by Carlo Vogele, started life as a Maserati Works car in 1955, and finished first at the 1000km Nuerburgring driven by Piero Taruffi, Harry Schell, Stirling Moss and Jean Behra (it should be noted that they didn't enter four drivers in the same car, but that Moss and Behra took over chassis 3059 after suffering a problem with chassis 3055 that they started the race in).
The 300S then went on to have two other wins in 1956, the first at the GP Bari and then the GP Australia, both driven by Moss.
At the end of 1956, Reg Smith (Australia) bought the car and competed at the Hepburn Springs Hillclimb before selling it on to Bob Jane (Australia) who took a second overall in the Fisherman's Bend Victorian Sports Car Championship. In 1961, Bob Jane fitted a hardtop to the car to allow it to compete in the Australian GT Championship, where it took first in class.
In 1971, Australian Jim Shephard restored the car back to Spyder format for Bob Jane, who then sold the car on in 1982 to Peter Briggs who kept the car until 1992 when Klaus Werner (KWAutos) took on ownership and had the car cosmetically and mechanically restored by Paul Grist and David Brusas respectively.

This is a selective colour of our little Ms. S in her run. She is doing a little better today, though she's still a bit wobbly. It'll be a while before she's back to her old self.
Happy Saturday to all!
It is not possible to work on flickr today !!! So my comment will be late as yours i think !
I'm also kind of a person who always thinks. Think everytime, think every place. So many times I feel like my head is about to explode. Day by day, I just wish for a little of moment that I could truly relax my soul, take my mind on cloud nine, to feel the birds' wing and let it flow with the wind.
Still wish...
Any help?...

Messing around trying some high key mono seascape shots. Basalt columns on a spit of rock at Kilmuir on the Isle of Skye.
Tbh I’m not sure if it’s my thing/style etc. I think I prefer a more natural type of shot/edit or mossy B&W for landscapes rather than the long exposure high key stuff but I think this works all the same.

I got Shizandra a new doggie bed. She never liked this sort of thing before, but this was recommended and she is aging so I thought this would be a nice place for her to rest and sleep.

Our Daily Challenge ... try something new.
I have been reading some interesting articles on creating abstract images. I decided to try one of the techniques described using a gazania daisy.
This is the first in a series of articles :-

Trying something new as I am teaching myself about long exposure - Now I had to do an earing shot for one of my challenges so I had to break a couple of rules in the making of this shot - 1. I had to make a big mess in one of the cabins to be able to set up a lightroom tabletop situation for the use of a tri-pod; and 2. I used a star filter which I have never done before (very pleased with the result)

ODC - BREAK THE RULES is the topic for Thursday 7 March 2013
There comes a time when you just gotta break the rules ... !
One way to think about this challenge is to stage (or catch in the act) someone breaking some rules. A hand in the cookie jar at midnight, that sort of thing.
But I think a somewhat more fun challenge (possibly) might be to break some rules of photography. Especially your own personal rules. Take something you always do in your photos, and turn it on its head. Get out of your comfort zone. Try something zany. Experiment. Give yourself permission to be courageous and free with your subject and your gear.
If you're not comfortable breaking your own rules, aim higher and wider. Get audacious and break some standard "rules of the photography." Shoot through semi-transparent objects like beveled glass. Or over-expose your light. Or underexpose. Let your subject be blurry and everything else be in tack-sharp focus. Invert the colors and give us the "negative" of your photo. Take the "rule of thirds" and smash it to bits.
In the end though, any rule -- photography oriented or not -- which you want to break is fair game. Just remember that when you break certain rules you don't want to get caught!
(Also, do let us know what rules you're breaking.)
For the record this challenge is not encouraging or endorsing any illegal activity in any country or province, real or imaginary.
Off the record -- just between you and me -- have lots and lots of fun!!
Scavenger Challenge - 23. Guys and girls both wear earrings these days. Make earrings your main feature.

This is an acrylic painting. As I cut the sizes of different painting, I often end up with odd sizes of paper left over.
I love color and shapes so this is more like a painting doddle. I painted it over time. Testing color combinations. Painting over different parts over and over. A lot going on here.
What do you think?
