The Tasmanian waratah (Telopea truncata) was quite common between Pelion Gap and Du Cane Gap. Though this was was at our accommodation near the National Parks office. Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park, Tasmania.

This little pitcher hasn't opened yet. For a baby pitcher it was big.

This was the best looking pitcher on the nepenthes truncata. Too bad it was on its way out.

Bosquet's species is much younger; this is similar to that illustrated as C. cf. truncata by Weaver (1982) from the Cenomanian.

Pellaea truncata is native to California and is also found outside of California, but is confined to western North America.

It is included in the CNPS Inventory of Rare and Endangered Plants on list 2.3 (rare, threatened, or endangered in CA; common elsewhere).

A beautiful Proteaceae from Tasmania Australia.

It is related to Alloxylon from Australia and New Guinea and Embothium and Oreocallis from South America confirming the Gondwanan origin of these plants. (photo by Ecodad)

In these old capsules on Tortula truncata, the operculum has fallen and the spores have escaped.

Collected from a stubble field just west of Ruthven.
