As we can see, Emilia has gone for the shorts with thermal undergarment. Possibly not the best option for a rainy day in the Highlands unless you have ankles which seem to have unnatural heat production capabilities...which Em does.
I have brought back the bloused or "trousers tucked into socks" look as pioneered by American paratroopers before being stolen by Neds. I intend to claim it back for us "intellectual" types.

What you need is the VeeCeeBee Patent Combined Bedroom Chair and Trouser Press.
I just picked it up today from my favourite antique junk restorer and dealer. It's in perfect working order, solid oak with a nice cane seat and, to my delight, still has the original instructions inside the press (see large to learn the technique).
Splendid.
We may need to have a photo of the whole thing in action at a later date.
