These Amazon Milk Frogs are about the cutest creatures on earth. They live in tropical rain forests.

The three galaxies M65 (top right), M66 (bottom right) and NGC 3628 (left) comprise the famous Leo Triplet in the zodiacal constellation Leo.

M65 is a highly inclined spiral galaxy with a prominent dust lane extending across its disk, visible through moderate-sized telescopes. M66 is a spiral galaxy with two bright arms which loop outward from the nucleus. Its spiral arms are deformed and distorted, probably due to gravitational interactions with its neighbors.

The 10th magnitude spiral galaxy NGC 3628 is a galaxy seen edge-on. It is about 100,000 light years across and the strong gravitational interactions with its neighbors are likely responsible for the warp of its spiral disk. Prominent dark dust lanes bisect its puffy galactic disk and give this magnificent galaxy the nick-name "Hamburger galaxy". Long exposure photos with big telescopes reveal a giant tidal tail that stretches about 300,000 light years.

The estimated distance of the three galaxies is about 35 million light years.

M65 and M66 were discovered by Charles Messier in 1780. NGC 3628 was discovered by William Herschel in 1784.

A trio of juvenile Tricolored Heron siblings. These birds are gregarious and very entertaining to watch as youngsters!

This species is one of those in which the plumage of the juveniles is totally different from the adults in color and patterns.

MANY THANKS FOR YOUR VIEWS, COMMENTS AND FAVES!

VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!

Cypress Knee in the pond at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens.

It is a relatively small area for so many birds nesting and breeding, displaying and fighting, but watching these Great Egrets over a couple hours has been enlightening. The chicks seem to squabble, but mostly they go at each other's beaks as they do to induce the parent to regurgitate food. The male and female took turns feeding the chicks and were quite diligent.

Here's a closeup, shot with the proper telescope (750mm)

This is a 3 shot pano done in Lightroom. The art behind the lady is done by local artists. They're changed every so often, so there is always a new photo op.

Kactovic, Alaska Triplets are very, very rare but the captain of our boat had witnessed their growing up.

This is the entrance to the MacDonald Engineering Building of the McGill University; a visually and functionally thriving building! Hopefully soon I'll have the pleasure of shooting various buildings in this campus with my real deal gear as well.

A pretty Gazania blossom refracted in water drops.

Saw the way these 3 reflections lined up and I knew I had a gift photo.

These two little fawns are from a set of triplets. The other baby was across the road with Mama. It's always amazing to see a set of triplets. That's a lot of little legs cramped in a small space! :)))
