You know who you are. You're the one who either owns the Genesis paper trimmer, or it's on your birthday list. You physically can't walk past the scrapbook store without peeking in. You're the one with a tiny little paper addiction, the one with a two foot stack of paper in your craft room. You're the one I see at the store buying more papers. How do I recognize you? Well, it certainly isn't because of any addiction of mine!

We woke one morning to landscapers trimming the big palm trees outside our condo. It was interesting how quickly they got these done... and there are a lot of them.

* I am using an 18th century Georgian candle wick snuffer / trimmer.
From Wikipedia:
"Before the mid-19th century, the term "snuffer" referred to a scissor-like device with two flat blades. This tool was used to trim the wick of a candle without extinguishing the flame, to maintain efficient burning. A small receptacle catches the trimmed bit of wick.
This tool was rendered obsolete by the invention of self-snuffing wicks, which curl out of the flame when charred. This allows excess wick to burn away, preventing the wick from becoming too long."

About fifty years ago my wife bought a "Comet" hair cutter to trim our sons' hair to save on the cost of taking them to the barber's shop. I've been using it for a good while to trim my hair but having dropped it a few times it's got broken making it difficult to use. The other day I saw one for sale on eBay, so now I have another as good as new.

Replacement was a piece of cake (chocolate w/icing) but you had to be careful to be sure the disturbed wires were put back to their original location & be in possession of the correct dedicated torx screwdriver. The magnetic screwdriver with replaceable bits in the photo is not thin enough to reach some of the recessed screws so one must think ahead if you are gonna tackle this seemingly very simple repair!
