I seem to have a fascination for these tiny flowers (Stylidium graminifolium) . The "trigger" which springs up and temporarily traps insects is clearly shown, as are the sticky tentacles which seem to prevent insects crawling into the centre of the flower.
Lighting setup:
-setting sun (just before dusk) to the right of the camera (2 o'clock position from camera)
-Sunpak 383 Super triggered with DX PT-04 (on full power; to the left of the subjects)
-flash was mounted approximately 6-7 feet high

i've been taking photos @ camberwell market in preperation for a trip to vietnam. I've been shooting street 'off the hip' with a wireless camera trigger with a 20mm f/1.8 lens attached to a 5dii. This way I can get very close to my subject without them realising I am taking a photo.
What I do is hold my camera in one hand; as if i was protecting it from swinging around & in my pocket I have a small yongnuo wireless trigger which I can press to activate the shutter. Then it's just a matter of aiming the lens in their general direction & shooting.
