Picture in background: Natalie's Dream by Tigre Milena (Doni)
frolicing faeries: Selenelily Galicia and Natalie Montagne
I wanted to do something special for Doni to let her know how much she's missed and loved. My sis Selenelily and I decided to do a series of pictures with a fantasy theme, which is one of Doni's great loves. They were taken at the Lost Unicorn Gallery, where Doni displays her work most of the time. I chose one of my favorite pictures she created on Ethereal, the sim the gallery is located on. Just a couple of frolicing faeries admiring their sweet faerie friend's beautiful work!
Doni is one of the sweetest people I've ever had the honor to meet. I met her through my sis, Selenelily. I've known Doni for about 5-6 years now and have grown closer to her just in the past year or 2. She has always been so supportive, encouraging and helpful when it comes to the gallery and overall. Not only is she a great person, but one of the most talented artists I've had the pleasure to meet. We are continuously thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers my sweet friend!! Come back to us soon! We love you!

My tribute for the death of our 11th President Corazon Aquino
Maria Corazon "Cory" Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was a President of the Philippines and a world-renowned advocate of democracy, peace, women's empowerment, and religious piety. She served as the 11th president of the Philippines from 1986 to 1992. She was the first female president of the Philippines and was Asia's first female president. Aquino died on August 1, 2009 after suffering from colon cancer. - Wikipedia
My longest running friend (we first met when we were three) emailed me the other day suggesting I did a tribute piece to the band we made when we were about 10. The band was called "Groove" and mainly consisted of singing along to pre-recorded beats on my mini Yamaha keyboard, recording them on our cassette machine, then forcing my younger sister to buy them for real pocket monies... The lyrics featuring in this piece were to the tune of that 90s classic, "venus"...

Today is Memorial Day in England: This shot is meant as a tribute to all the people who lost their lives in wars all over the world.
Possibly one of the most photographed signals at Barnetby BE49 which has most likely been felled and carted away for scrap now being replaced by a characterless LED thing. I know it is progress and probably cost saving but I'm sure a platform end shot certainly won't be the same in the future.
60 047 is seen in the background working the 12.16 Rectory Junction to Lindsey discharged tanks, a little immaterial to the shot but worth a mention all the same.
Thanks for making this Explore Frontpage -- I feel very honoured!!
Shot in the style of Dustin Diaz.

Note: Quite clever from dd, to choose 2048x2048 if possible: gets interpolated from Flickr to 1024x1024 in large view mode-> still quite sharp.
Sad to report that TinkerBell, my once feral cat, has been missing for a month. She escaped when I was taking TiaMaria out of the front door. Tia is my elderly black lab who has been battling both cancer and diabetes for several months and is now blind, so, she takes a long time to enter and exit the house. Tinker and Tia were absolutely bonded and poor Tia has had a very hard time adjusting to Tinker’s disappearance. Now that a month has passed, and knowing that TinkerBell has never disappeared for more than 24 hours on the odd occasions when she has escaped previously, I fear the worst has happened.

A seat dedicated to those in the emergency services who do a brilliant job sometimes in demanding circumstances .
Spotted aptly positioned opposite Epsom Fire Station and alongside the Ambulance Station which is on the other side of a road junction . The Police Station is further into the town centre though . I have seen a few other tribute seats dotted about , there was one I saw in the town centre dedicated to the fallen and injured in conflict .
Brisbane's Story Bridge was lit up in the 6 colours of the South African flag this evening as a tribute to Nelson Mandela who passed away earlier in the week.
