“The Colour And The Shape” is a semi-daily personal project in the line of works and studies by Mark Rothko, Paul Klee, or Wassily Kandinsky. It aims to explore the synesthetic qualities of images, and the effects of color and space subdivision in the observer’s psyche.
Working within a set of rigid and very limited rules opens a window to self-analysis. By being fully aware of the involved thought processes and outcome, it allows me to improve different aspects of my own creative process.
This is a headshot with triangle lighting, which means there is a backlight behind the subject, a key light and a fill light. The three of these together produce a well-lit shot.
Theme: This is me, and I will be showing you a few of my favorite things with a twist of the lighting we have learned in class.
At the Nollendorfplatz. A memorial to gay victims of National Socialism. They were among those who suffered most in the concentration camps, where they were forced to wear pink badges (the pink triangle) and were often mistreated by fellow inmates as well. The wreath which you can see here (the only one placed at this memorial) is by the Green Party.

The PRECIOSA Triangle-Extra is a special type of these seed beads. It is only made in one size (3.5 x 3.5 mm) and it is exceptional, because it has a rounder shape than a regular triangle.
Czech PRECIOSA Triangles have slightly rounded edges thanks to their advanced technological processing.

The funny thing is ... Ginny and I both made basically the same snack ... just using different cheeses. We had never discussed these triangles so it was a pretty strange coincidence.
