Took son Alex to Stanstead on his way to a conference in Trieste with his uni tutor. Hannah had encouraged him to publish his dissertation findings, and co-wrote the paper with two others. The diss was about computer recognition of photos of paintings by Welsh landscape artist Kyffin Williams. Couldn't see the planes, so here's the roof of the terminal.
the big ball thing in epcot. distinctly reminded me of 'fun' days in maths where you would build 3d shapes from paper.
Blue Triangle's former Grimsby Cleethorpes Daimler Fleetline DMS768 (TGX 768M) prepares to work Cardinal Newman school service 114 on 18th March, 1994. Brighton & Hove's first Scania stands alongside.
Taken at Scotsdale Park in Dunedin, Florida. Looking through the swings to the houses and trees beyond.
I have made many needlebooks using different colours. In the middle are small triangles, and it's a nice project to use up small scraps, too.
At long last I've managed a half decent shot of one of these vehicles. Blue Triangle WVL 342, a Wright Gemini Eclipse 2 bodied Volvo B9TL, arrives in Barking on East London Transit route EL2 to Dagenham Dock.
Well, what do you do when its pouring with rain in Sydney? I grabbed this shot as I feverishly attempted to keep rain off my lens. I have increased the structure in Topaz to bring out the rain and given the low light conditions and washed out sky I feel it works better as a monotone with the exception of the 'umberella couple' walking into frame. I love the receding shapes of the Opera House set against the steps.

A bag I made using half-square triangles. The pattern is from the book Friendship Triangles by Edyta Sitar.

Less is more. Simplicity yet can be a unlimited imagination behind it.
It was the most ordinary object which you passed by everyday; however you never really paid attention to. Not to mention it can be turned out the hidden beauty in your life.
The idea of taken this shot was inspired by a friend who has been a very good mentor and supporter of this 365 project journey to me since the beginning. Especially during those moments I almost came to the point felt lost, confused and frustrated and ending up feeling giving up. It is the encouragement from this friend reminded me to turn my head around and kept moving.
The works from this friend are so incredible and inspiring for me to view it each time. Most of them are quite simple yet powerful and always leave you with lots of room to allow your imagination fly to any where it can take you. Pretty amazing.
So this shot is somehow a little appreciation from my heart to this special friend of mine who I met during this wonderful journey of 365 project.
Thank-you, my dear friend! This one is for YOU!
I say "unstable" because this kind of arrangement will inevitably run into a contradiction (this I found out and proved whilst missing my stop on the bus....) Only monomial and binomial triangle patterns will be able to tessellate infinitely. Tomorrow I'm going to try generalizing this, to see if I can manage some other patterns.
Triangle Center (77,313 square feet)
1933 Victory Boulevard, Portsmouth, VA
This shopping center was built in 1957.
Taken at the October LSMG meetup as part of the training day.
David asked about a specific type of lighting and I said I'd have a go. I think this has turned out a bit harsher than expected but it's OK. I'll post the editing instructions on my blog when I have the energy to write them...
Plain white background. Three studio light - left and right strip boxes angled just towards the camera and in line with the model's shoulders. Top light in 80cm softbox on boom arm pointing straight down about two stops below the side lights.
Oh and I should also say a big thank you to Scott for help with getting the lighting sorted, standing behind me and spotting when the model was not standing straight and so on and so forth.
Triangle / Trikonasana-- the body creates a series of triangle shapes--stretches the upper and lower body; lengthens the hamstrings and sides of the torso; strengthens the legs, opens the hips as well as the shoulders, increases focus; gaze "Drishti" is upwards. Practice this posture on both sides of the body. The practice of this pose strengthens, grounds, and increases focus & stamina. Hold pose for 6-12 breaths on each side; repeat.
Morning yoga is energizing as well as calming. It will set the tone for the rest of your day. It was a great week of fun, relaxation, running, yoga, reading, family and friends, but I have missed you. Looking forward to many yoga practices together this week. Photo taken by Charles Wills at Lake Champlain at sunrise, 5:30 AM.
This design is a modification of Triangles so that the tessellation becomes flagstone. At first glance, this change is more visible on the back side than on the front. Folded from a sheet of handmade paper from John Gerard paper studio.
I was looking for some possibilities to make triangles - there are soooo many more wonderful quilts.....
