Triangle sublime,
le triangle pourra même, selon son espèce, correspondre à un élément : l'eau est associée au triangle rectangle; la terre, au triangle équilatéral; le feu, au triangle isocèle; et l'air au triangle scalène...

'Dancing Triangles' are formed by sulfur atoms on a layer of copper, which in turn rests upon a base, or 'substrate' of ruthenium. Scientists at Brookhaven Lab will study this type of configuration to understand how metal behaves on top of another. Layered metals are often used as catalysts, such as those that clean pollutants from automobile exhaust in catalytic converters.
This design is a modification of Triangles so that the tessellation becomes flagstone. At first glance, this change is more visible on the back side than on the front. Folded from a sheet of handmade paper from John Gerard paper studio.
Now I found a way to fold every desired polygon cross.
Let's begin with the triangle. An interesting aspect is here that the diagram for it is known.
The module is the same as Francis Ow's snow flake module.
Only the connection is different. At the assembly you have to turn the second module
about 180 degrees, so it goes to the left. Then take a third one and combine them like my square cross by bringing the lowest module in front and lifting up one pocket to make the connection.

Pattern: Shetland Triangle by Evelyn Clark
Yarn: Malabrigo Lace Weight in Polar Morn
Needles: US 5 Bamboo Straights (if you can believe it, I knit this one on straight needles)
Notes: I got the book, Wrap Style, from the library to make this shawl, as it was really the only one from the book I thought I would like to knit and couldn't see buying the whole book for one pattern... so it's a bit overdue, but I have a nice shawl to show for it. I followed the pattern, did 10 repeats of the body pattern and it made a smallish shawl, which is what I wanted with this. I think I'll get some wear out of it this summer, and use it more like a scarf in the winter. Overall, quite happy.
I have made many needlebooks using different colours. In the middle are small triangles, and it's a nice project to use up small scraps, too.
Finally it is done today.

A bag I made using half-square triangles. The pattern is from the book Friendship Triangles by Edyta Sitar.

Took son Alex to Stanstead on his way to a conference in Trieste with his uni tutor. Hannah had encouraged him to publish his dissertation findings, and co-wrote the paper with two others. The diss was about computer recognition of photos of paintings by Welsh landscape artist Kyffin Williams. Couldn't see the planes, so here's the roof of the terminal.
