The treen teapot, tureen and spotted handle-less mugs are old, the rest is home-made from balsa and bits and bobs.
Untouched beach, no clouds, no one around. I love Treen. have only been here twice but it is lovely. There were barely any footprints on the beach- and no wonder- me and my girlfriend abandoned climbing down as the rocks were wet.
Not one of my best but my photostream could really do with some brightening up- this was the first bright day for ages!
Also I played with a load of new filters on this shot. I can't afford Lee so I have gone for Hitech filters which fit my Cokin P series mount. The ND8 filter gives a slight but even (and so fixable) colour cast and my ND8 grad seems to be colour cast free so good times! Much better than Cokin- I would definitely recomend them for people like me who can't afford to spend £150 on a set of Lee grads.

The fireplace, lamps and all of the furniture are home-made. The furniture is made from thick card. The house is about 1:16 scale.
Rose Chafer (Cetonia aurata). Treen Cliff, St. Levan, Cornwall. October 25, 2022.
The only one I found all week.
On the cliff top at Treen near Porthcurno looking along the headland at Treryn Dinas, the site of a former Iron Age Fort. Logan Rock is perched perilously at the end and although it weighs 80 tonnes it can be rocked by hand. One of the intrepid participants on the West Cornwall workshop had ventured right out to the cliff edge.

Gary Hume is renowned for paintings distinguished by a bright palette, simplified forms and flat areas of seductive colour. He first received critical acclaim as part of the Young British Artists (YBAs), a group whose work was exhibited together in a series of shows at the Saatchi Gallery, London in the 1990s. After achieving success with his bold, large-scale paintings based on hospital doors, Hume started to explore a wider variety of themes, producing simple, flatly coloured representational drawings often inspired by images found in second-hand books.

The flower blossoms of a Bradford Pear tree, also known as the Callery Pear tree.
The beautiful white flowers with their delicate stamen standing out to send seed into the wind are gorgeous. The bits of green and splashes of brown branches all add up to a wonderful pallete against the deep blue sky. I used the macro mode on my Panasonic LX3 to grab this up close beauty.
Up close and personal, these trees look just as beautiful as they do from afar, when in bloom. The rest of the year, their green leaves or later bare branches are nothing in comparison to their burst of beauty in the Spring.
Nature has a way of putting on it's best in wonderful ways. For humanity, it's more our personal choice which puts on a display in our choice of clothes ro hairstyles, or makeup, I guess you could include tattoos or piercings in that too.
Our beauty goes deep into who we are and how we treat each other. Not as important is what's on the outside. At least, not as important to me.
I hope I display the beauty of my inner self to the world, so they can see the unique caring nature that is mine. Not as visually stunning as a Bradford Pear treen in full blossom, but hopefully more lasting effects throughout all the days of my life.
The fireplace, lamps, furniture and most of the accessories are home-made. The furniture is made using plywood, scraps of pine, balsa and card.
A photographic still life of some georgeous old wooden kitchen utensils from Gernany. The two sticks with mushroom like ends are called quirrels and are used like electric mixers but are twisted between one's two palms.

Another view of Treen Cove on the Cornish coast.
If you are British or widely read in stories or histories about this part of the world, then surely you wont help connecting the words 'cove' and 'Cornwall' with tales of smugglers and wreckers, and secret caves. Well hang in there and I promise this series will turn up at least one such cave,
