Been working a bit more on the tree house. Its nearly complete. Just a few more things. A slide, and a swing set. Things are looking good. Fun to love on my boys in this way
the treehouse is cantilevered 50 ft out over the pool, with the top waterfall behind, and the middle fall drops 200 ft from the pool just off the right side of the image. there is a swiss-family robinson style pulley system to bring up water.
my partner and i were visiting this mostly deciduous forest with a large meadow nearby. we had just walked through the meadow, which was filled with prairie flowers and lots of bees and were about to re-enter the woods. we came upon this tree and i said "oh, look at this beauty!" as we circled around it, i saw the opening in the trunk and said "i bet that would be a nice home for someone" and right at that moment this chipmunk came out on to the "front step" to see us!
photo taken in late spring 2010.

The treehouse at Kyile's grandparents home in TN. She would spend all day there if I would let her. She collects all sorts of leaves, sticks, flowers and such and arranges them just so.
