The enormous and beautifully crafted Treehouse is built from sustainably sourced Canadian cedar, Scandinavian redwood and English and Scots pine. There are walkways in the sky and wobbly rope bridges and at the heart of the Treehouse is a unique restaurant with a roaring log fire in the centre of the room, trees growing through the floor, handcrafted furniture and screens created from fallen branches.

Treehouses are nestled in our coastal litoral forests -- one of the most threatened forests worldwide.

I was never the big wine drinker but after a visit to a local vineyard decided that white is a bit tastier than red but neither compare to a good scotch or whiskey with a Heineken chaser.

Cheers!

The kids took apart part of our old deck and decided to use the lumber for an expansion to the treehouse.

It was a challenge to get a queensize bed through the trap door, and we accomplished it with a modular bed and memory foam top. View in from lanai outside bedroom. The French doors open and it is as is there is no wall at all between you and the rainforest.

treehouse in the forest by my house.

Had seen this from the train & a few days later happened to find myself standing infront of it. A different kind of treehouse.

Designed and built by the owners Carlos Zubieta and Tatiana Barhar in 2005. The home is approximately 2,000 square feet with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a large open mezzanine that overlooks the dining room. 20’-0” high ceilings and surrounding walls of glass brings the southern sky and large mature trees right into the home.

Carlos Zubieta and daughter Sasha under the A-frame treehouse, constructed last summer. "When she and her friend set up a lemonade stand and had a garage sale to raise money to build a tree house, I had to take it seriously," Zubieta said. "We used all the scrap lumber saved from building the home and with the $80 collected from the lemonade and garage sale we bought all the hardware and paneling."

Tree houses are wooden houses built on top the trees. Tree houses have been constructed using eco friendly materals with out even using a single nail using materials like coir mats, bamboo poles, hay straws, live trees (as pillar), etc. Tree houses are modified versions of "Erumadam", usually used by the tribals and hunter to escape from the attacks of wild animals. Please visit www.irisholidays.com if you would like to stay in these Treehouses

Inspired by the show, Treehouse Masters, I made a lucky minifig child an ultimate treehouse. Complete with a sink, coffee cup, arm chair, loft with writing nook, and amazing views.

The treehouse is modular in a sense that it can be split- truck and house- although a trunk runs throughout the whole structure.

The lucky minifig, Jimmy, is now the king of his town's youngsters!

This was located at WalMart. It takes some creative liberties from the original TREE HOUSE poster. You can spot the differences.

I glanced over as I was passing this tree on Laurel Trail at Lake Malone State Park (Muhlenburg County, Kentucky) and discovered this spider's "treehouse" just above eye-level. This hollow was likely once the base of a long-departed branch but made for a fine lil nook for the mostly-hidden resident I found upon closer inspection. (6-23-2012)

Running across subjects such as this makes me wish I was better-equipped for true macros. Some additional accessories and glass are certainly high on my wish-list once work returns to something resembling a normal status... ;-)

A wheelchair-accessible treehouse at Camp Twin Lakes (CTL) outside of Atlanta. CTL serves children facing all sorts of physical, mental and emotional challenges. This treehouse is magical!

We had to condemn the boys' treehouse last summer when the floor started to rot through. After much debate on whether to contract out or built it ourselves, we finally came to our senses and hired an awesome team to build this for us. Best! Treehouse! Ever!! :)

(The last photo I have of the original treehouse is in the first comment box.)

Just a few words about it: That's how I imagine my own LEGO treehouse :)

Swiss Family Treehouse -- Disney's 1960 live-action film "Swiss Family Robinson" may not be so popular today, but it's really worth a look -- especially before you bring your kids to this walk-through attraction. The make-believe tree beautifully recreates the home the shipwrecked family in the movie builds for themselves, right down to the organ in the "living room" and the skylight in the parents' bedroom.

The story of the movie goes like this: A shipwrecked family of five salvages material from their downed ship, the Swallow, to create a home among the leaves of a huge old tree on a South Seas island. There are bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen and a library, all set up just like other 19th-century homes. Eventually, the family has to battle a band of pirates, and then they are rescued -- well, sort of. You have to see the movie!

As you climb the steps of the Swiss Family Treehouse, you pass through the various rooms, with explanatory placards that tell the story of the Robinsons. You get close-up views of each of the rooms, which feature furnishings from items salvaged from the wrecked vessel. There's a lantern, a log book, ornate railings, and, standing prominently in the living room, the ship's wheel from the Swallow. Ropes from the ship drive a water-wheel system that dips buckets of water from the stream, carrying it to the top of the tree. Books are open, the dinner table is set and the family pipe organ plays happily -- in fact, there's a feeling that the Robinsons could walk in at any moment.

At the top of the tree, you look out on to Adventureland below -- there's a view of the winding river and Jungle Cruise, giving the feeling of being in the middle of a tropical island.

This treehouse was built by my daughter and her dad many years ago. If I couldn't find my daughter, this is usually where she was. I got up yesterday (Aug 19) with the intent of taking photos for this contest throughout the day. Walking the forest behind the house, hoping to see the turkeys, I instead came upon this, and this represents home!~ Photo by Eva Bareis, Rapid City

View of incomplete treehouse. A roof will cover the house and patio portion to protect us from the Texas heat.

The total structure will weigh around 700 lbs. A tube slide will attach to the far end of the deck and a staircase will attach to the right end.

The knee braces are being used here because we have all kinds of utility lines running directly below the deck so safely putting 4 posts straight to the ground off the deck isn't an option.

from the ground at it's highest. The back two uprights are tree limbs. The front two supports are trees with a an 8" tee trunk as a cross beam, slotted to allow the beam to float when the trees sway in the wind. The floor floats on the beam, wrapping around the trunks.

The Gibbon Experience in Laos provided us with this treehouse as one of their three guesthouses used on the classic trail. This treehouse has enough space for 8 people, a kitchen area and even a bathroom with a shower!
