Some nights right after the sun settles into the trees.... magic happens. It's my favorite time of the evening....the dark can't take over quite yet!
Disregard the fact that the tree is technically still up (tho without lights and without ornaments). This network cable goes from the router near the cable modem to my temporary gaming computer setup on the dining room table...and usually the cable is on the floor.
Neither I nor Todd hung the cable on the tree. No other human has been in the house. I don't believe a cat could simultaneously pick up the cable and hang it that high on the tree (about waist level).

Snaps and I went in search of the sunset over the city and instead found this, an incredible location to shoot monks in training, kids in the fire and monkeys in the trees.
Magic stuff and the type of experience that makes all the travel, all the bumpy hours in the back of ramshackle buses and the mud butt more than worth it.

Deep in the forest, not far from Torpa there is a Magic Tree. In olden times people used to go to this strange tree to rid themselves of toothache.

When I took this picture I thought I was catching the two bald eagles highest in the tree. It wasn't til we were home and I was looking at this photo more closely that I noticed the other two!
This maypole at Tolleshunt D'Arcy is one of just a handful to survive. It is protected now by a wooden cage that also gives directions to neighbouring villages. The real magic lies in the hawthorn tree inside the cage. Hawthorn is also known as the May Tree and is one of the most magical of all trees. "Cast ne'er a clout 'till may be out" refers to the blossoming of the may tree.
Surrounding the maypole is a unique directional signpost.
