Mercedes 180 oldtimer underneath orange tree, captured @ Larnaca, Cyprus.

Hi friends! Spent a week on Cyprus, an Eurasian island country in the Mediterranean Sea and southeasternmost part of Europe. We went there for the weather (18-22 degrees) and for its rich history and archeological sites. Our home base was near Limassol, in the south of the island.

Funny thing is that Cyprus is partitioned into two main parts; the area under the effective control of the Republic of Cyprus, comprising about 59% of the island's area, and the Turkish-controlled area in the north, calling itself the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and recognised only by Turkey, covering about 36% of the island's area.

As Cyprus is a former British colony, they still drive on the left (in the north too!) so the first couple of days it was pretty hard to adapt, but I managed to succeed without accidents :)

Another unpublished image from back in mid April. A flowering tree captured on campus.

Not sure what its called. It seemed different in that it was loaded with lots of pink flowers directly attached to and lined all along the tree's branches.

Not dangling off a little stem of some sort like most of the flowering trees seem to have.

Captured with iPhone, Olloclip Macro lens and edited on the iPad in Snapseed.

Regular followers will recognise this local tree - captured early in the morning with just a touch of frost around.

A majestic tree captured in Campinas, SP, Brazil, beside a road. It was captured in motion, causing this blur effect on the fence.

If you look closely, you can see the power wires behind the tree, showing the encounter between city and nature.

One of the first pictures I took as an amateur photographer.

I just love this picture.

Hearst Castle is a National and California Historical Landmark mansion located on the Central Coast of California, United States. It was designed by architect Julia Morgan between 1919 and 1947 for newspaper magnate William Randolph Hearst, who died in 1951. In 1957, the Hearst Corporation donated the property to the state of California. Since that time it has been maintained as a state historic park where the estate, and its considerable collection of art and antiques, is open for public tours. Despite its location far from any urban center, the site attracts about one million visitors per year.

Hearst formally named the estate "La Cuesta Encantada" ("The Enchanted Hill"), but usually called it "the ranch". Hearst Castle and grounds are also sometimes referred to as "San Simeon" without distinguishing between the Hearst property and the adjacent unincorporated area of the same name.
