I was going to my customers on I88 in Illinois, and I saw these trees next to this run down barn, I ended it passing it up and had to take them on the return trip from the opposite side of the road. It was hard to snap the picture between passing cars and trucks.
Had to walk halfway out in a field by Booneville to get this tree. One of those shots that I've driven past for a year but never got. Today as the weather turned, it looked right.

A digital painting I did in Aug. on a photo of blank canvas. It's kind of cartoonish, and it makes me smile. I needed to be cheered up. You? View On Black
I stared at this for a moment, and saw a pointed face, eyes, nose, arms outstretched.....
Kodak Bantam 828 f/4.5 (1938-1948).

tree roots in the Vale of Avoca Reach, midtown Toronto (talk about packing wood)...kinda sad that this is my most viewed photo but that's what I get for adding "porn" as a tag, I guess
As the tree pic in the previous post was so popular, here are a few more in the series. Taken whilst on Special Branch duties!
With it's talons bared, the tree monster advances upon the innocent photographer......yeah! yeah! As my critical school reports used to say; 'he has an overactive imagination'. Actually these are the roots of a strangler vine that will gradually envelope this tree in The Domain near Sydney Harbour.
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth's sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.

The spectacle of fall color was enhanced this evening by the first shadow that happened to fall just on the shore where trees meet water. No color correction or exposure change here- this is the real deal.
