"I think that I shall never see a poem lovely as a tree"

A fallen tree at the bank of the Tama river, near Yanokuchi station. Probably the reason is the flood a couple of years ago.

Just a tree a short walk from home. We are not allowed to walk far when in Level 4 lockdown. Fortunately the strategy seems to have worked and kept our South Island free of covid except for border isolation near Christchurch airport and we move down to level 3 on Tuesday. I get my second vaccine shot this afternoon, Meanwhile I will keep the watch out for strange tree entities. Hope you weekend is safe and happy!

a tree along the River's Trail

Kamloops, BC

I first came across this tree about two years ago and I marveled at it then. And I wondered at the mysteries of it: who had done it? It was clearly a talented artist/artisan. Was it sanctioned by the City of Kamloops as it was along apublically funded walking trail?

After two years, I am still wondering. I did find out though that there had been sightings of tree carvings in at least two other communities. And that there was an artist in Prince George who did bark carvings that reputedly did no harm to the tree.

The park near our new house had thousands of trees planted in 1887 for the Golden Jubilee of Victoria's reign. There are oaks and beech from England and redwood from Canada and even some native NZ trees in there.

The cabbage tree known to Māori as tī kōuka, was used as a source of food and It provided durable fibre for textiles, anchor ropes, fishing lines, baskets, waterproof rain capes and cloaks, and sandals.

I've started printing my own work. I've been printing this on Awagami's bamboo paper. The character of the paper creates a soft opening of the shadows which expresses exactly what I want for this image.

If you are interested in this print or any other image of mine, please take a look at my website.

I've decided not to limit my prints. All are open edition and very reasonably priced.

Mirroring lone tree under a few small clouds and a beautiful blue sky, in the classic Romanian rural area.

I've been in the mood to dig into some old stuff. I found some tree shots from various locations using various cameras.

This is the rather well known tree found at Killbear Provincial Park. It has been photographed so many times that when you google the park, you will be guaranteed to see an image of this tree. So trying to catch a different perspective of the tree was a challenge. When we first visited it, we had blue skies with not a cloud in sight. But after exploring along the shoreline, an hour later a small bank of clouds rolled in for a quick visit before they were gone again. We positioned ourselves in anticipation of the clouds. I caught this one with the clouds lined up with the branches so that it looked like smoke coming from the tree.

In the grass, under the tree

You do place, your fingers on me

As the clouds race above

We share a moment of love

In the green, on the hill

Where your skin, now does thrill

My greedy mouth, my excited hands

As i explore your hidden lands

In the grass, under the tree

Where you make sweet love to me

Either one of these 2 photos (the other one in the comments) would have done for fence Friday - it was such a lovely Autumn day at Batsford Arboretum - cold but crisp and sunny!

Yesterday Anita came over and released me from this jail house and we road to a nearby town for brunch. Not too much riding going on especially compared to past Sunday rambles but enough to clear some cobwebs. It was a rainy, foggy day (again) so not much to point a camera at but enough so I don't get too rusty at this drive by photography stuff! LOL Today will be an adventure as Anita has gone back to work full time and I am doing chicken chores on my own. Whoopeee! LOL
