The yellowwood tree in front of my house was so full of flowers this spring that the clusters drooped low over the sidewalk, and scented the air for passers-by with the sweetest fragrance.

I’m posting these today as a farewell to spring, on its last day. (Thankfully, it’s followed by summer and not winter! ;-)

A chat with someone this morning concerning going back through past shots, and the fact that I just started writing a blog and was thinking about what to write about next got me casually going through Lightroom this evening.

 

This was one of those shots (and there are a lot of them in my photostream) that I know I just didn't get right, despite being happy with them at the time so I decided to redo it.

This is a sunset behind a flame tree on my property. Mardella, Western Australia.

If you look closely, it almost looks like he’s dancing. But a tree can’t dance, can it? Swaying in the wind, rain falling gently on its branches, it comes to life in our minds eye.

The agricultural and rural areas that make up the unique character of the Cypriot countryside.

This is the part of winter that I love. The first snow, when everything is clean and white and it feels so fresh. It always makes me feel like a kid again.

Close of a dead and decaying water oak, sans bark. I believe the detail is from insects previously burrowing under the bark.
