Not something you see every day. It definitely got her some attention though.

This photo was taken in the fall of 2015. I was on a hiking trail outside Smiths Falls, Ontario Canada.
The old tree at välsta. One day late this time. Very foggy this morning. But not cold, 0 C. For my a photo a week project. I was early this time. Two people out walking their dog 100 meters ahead of me, but you can't see them because of the weather.

A gnarled oak stands defiantly against a chill winter morning in the Hocking Hills of Ohio.
Here's how this tree looked when I visited the same place last year:

Enjoying late light in the Buttermoor.
While the GX7's dynamic range might not be as impressive as the a7R's, the improvement compared to my former camera - the GF1 - is significant.
My 200th flickr photo.
Kevin called this morning around 6:30 saying it was very foggy on Springfield Rd. The temperature this morning was about 10 degrees and there was a wonderful frost on all the trees as well. The Mackinaw River valley had good visibility but on top of the hill - south of the river - it was foggy. The tree sits on top of the hill north of the river so it wasn't much to look at fog-wise. There was some interesting ice in the tree so I thought I'd make some black and white images.
I fell in love with this Oak tree....it is magnificent!! branching outward like arms stretched out and standing firm as it awaits the brutality which Winter will bring.
After many, many, many years, my favourite dead tree finally that stood so long next to this oak, fell and went to the great forest in the sky. I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did and the view now is not the same. :(
Foggy late afternoon by the Uwharrie River, Randolph County, NC
Totally inspired today with an all day presentation by Ken Sklute, at Randolph Community College... where I have taught 18 plus years in the Photographic Technology Dept.
Great fog on my way home, only had a point and shoot...but it's not about the equipment now is it!?
This shot is typical of the type of lighting you can expect in this swamp... it generally has thick tree cover. Most of the native flora here has to be exceedingly shade tolerant.
