I laid flat on my back as I was tipping over trying to capture this bare tree while standing up on a side of the hill :)

I'd probably look really awkward lol

Tree with roots spread wide, build so strong and age above 200 years.

This mostly living tree stands at the entrance to an long abandoned farm homestead.

Two trees seeing out the winter up at Whittliemuir Reservoir here in Howwood.

A very Happy New Year to all at Flickr, all the best for 2007!!

A tree with such wide and powerful limbs. I could only think of them as arms reaching out to attack me. Seriously it was such a beautiful tree with such expansive and reaching limbs in every direction. Such a work of art.

Trees are poems that earth writes upon the sky, we fell them down and turn them into paper, that we may record our emptiness.

Tree, Dear Tree,

In the Spring, you give the birds a place to rest.

On your lovely branches I can hear a family of Robins singing in their nest.

Some trees are short, some trees are tall,

But all trees are lovely as their leaves change in the Fall.

I love to see your reds and browns, but your golden yellows are the best of all.

How beautiful you are covered in winter white,

As you stand in the snow and your branches are frozen in ice.

Then again comes the spring so crisp and clean,

Waking you out of your slumbering sleep.

Joyfully telling you another year has gone by,

" Look up dear tree you have grown one inch more closer to the sky." ~

From Easter day at Skylands Botanical Garden, New Jersey. It was a very large and stately tree, I think they are cherry blossoms.

十年树木;百年树人

An old Chinese saying goes, “It takes ten years to grow trees but a hundred years to rear people”.

I was fascinated by this - easily entertained I guess. :-)

Trees of Life

The trees line the road for a long way and they are all different, twisted and knarled.

Autumn beckons and the leaves will soon be gone.

These trees are there to talk about the air pollution, about humans and their garbage on the beautiful green carpet of earth. They have to do something to save the planet.
