The entire island is only 15 acres, you can stroll right round it on the beach in 30 minutes!

The legends live on and the stories are told,

Of pirates and treasure chests laden with gold.

Many a ship’s been claimed by this coast,

Their bounties sunk and resting with ghosts.

From St. Lucie to Juno, Stuart to Hobe Sound,

Here lies the ghosts and treasures unfound.

I have a well-being plot, at a local nursery, which I visit once a week with other partially- sighted friends.

...which can't exactly compete with beach treasures... but then, you can't get to the beach every day (or at least, I can't!) So, you make do with what you've got!

For the tenth edition of the Brick Arena inside ModelExpoItaly, the CLV - Recognized LUGs have chosen the image of an iconic Treasure Map (code 3068bpb0929) as a symbol of the event. I wanted to pay tribute to it by recreating it with Lego. I started from the wind rose for the size of the scale and I tried to reproduce each element as faithfully as possible.

My favorite shot from the "close-up" series. Shot handheld with 50mm lens + Raynox DCR-250 combination.

Along Wolf Creek Pass between South Fork and Pagosa Springs is Treasure Falls. It's worth a stop to get out, stretch your legs a little and take a hike.

A couple of treasured objects. A hand-made suede (leather) book mark that my Dad made about 1960, and a Second World War Compass that he gave me. He passed just over 43 years ago.

Went for a walk round Wisley yesterday and collected a few "treasures" from the floor. Added a couple of bits from the garden this morning. (No idea what the seed / fruit bottom left is, never seen one before!)

I don't have many macro sized items that I treasure but this ring is one. As you can see it's pretty beat up and that's because I've had it for over 10 years. It's quite interesting seeing it this close up.

Main street in the Worcestershire town of Broadway. The shop on the left, Treasure Trove, has a nice range of picture postcards on offer although I wonder if, in these days of Facebook and mobile images, anybody sends them anymore. It is a long time since I received one and as a postcard collector since I was about 9 years old, that is very sad.

Exactly one year ago, my lovely wife Marilyn and I were wandering the streets of Paris. Before Paris, we had spent time in Windsor and London, England. These are treasured moments for both of us because you never know what curves life will throw at you. Marilyn has lupus, an autoimmune disease, and for 30 years she has been symptom free. Lupus has reared up in her life recently, which resulted in hospitalization. She is home now receiving treatment that hopefully will push the disease back.

For the next little bit of time I will be off and on Flickr. Thank you so very much to all my Flickr friends for all your comments and favs. Looking forward to sharing and seeing everyone’s fabulous images in the days ahead. Best wishes to you all.

Fidra is an uninhabited island in the Firth of Forth, 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) north-west of North Berwick, on the east coast of Scotland.

Fidra Island, fabled to be the island of inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's famous book 'Treasure Island' with 'Spy-glass Hill' modelled on Yellowcraig on the mainland opposite. A map of Treasure Island included in the first edition has the familiar horseshoe outline of Fidra.

So just maybe I was meant to take this long exposure there in Bar Harbor with this magenta 'X' created by the congruence of the clouds and the muted reflection on the surface of the water ...

... there must be some treasure buried here ;)
