Photo challenge For the day. These are a few treasures from my mother that I have

For Macro Monday's Theme : Treasured

Small treasures in a tidepool at Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, just north of Half Moon Bay, California.

Creative close-up framing of a Gazania rigens, sometimes called 'treasure flower'.

With its vibrant and fiery hues, this flower is a true symbol of enthusiasm, passion, and creativity.

Gazania stands tall and proud, inviting us to embrace the warmth and energy it exudes. Whether adorning a garden or brightening up floral arrangements, its vibrant petals ignite a sense of joy and inspiration.

But this alluring flower is not just visually stunning; it carries deep cultural and historical significance as well. From ancient mythology to modern-day interpretations, Gazania has been celebrated for its ability to thrive in harsh conditions. It has become a symbol of resilience and perseverance, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, beauty can bloom.

A message of creativity and inspiration.

Image of a beautiful golden leaf that had blown onto a dry stone wall. It caught my eye and I saw it has a treasure of natural nature. 🍁🍂🍁

These delicate and fragile Easter eggs have been painted completely by hand in Turkey in a beautiful Art Nouveau style, known as Arts and Crafts Movement or “Style Liberty” in the United Kingdom. The eggs all have a solid background over which a stylised pattern of flowers in a William Morris style has been painted. The decorated eggs are then covered in a varnish to protect the fragile hand painted surface. The eggs are all painted in Turkey by one family, and then shipped to Australia. The family also make stylish wooden spherical Christmas ornaments with similar Style Liberty design.

I would like to wish all of my Flickr friends and followers a very happy Easter Sunday! May today be filled with lots of fun, laughter and if you go on an Easter Egg hunt may you find a treasured Easter egg... or two of chocolate or otherwise.

However amongst all the fun and frivolity and chocolate take a moment to stop and remember the reason for the season, whether it be religious, or the simple joy of being with the ones you love the most.

We have visited San Juan Island, Washington, many times, and always made our way to Lime Kiln Park, where we hoped to spot various wildlife....including the prize....Orcas. Over the years, we have been privileged to view the whales a ways offshore, their flukes flashing in the distance.

Some years ago, we were thrilled to see a whole pod go by extremely close to shore. This was in the years of early digital cameras, and I managed to gather a few somewhat marginal images, before choosing to simply experience this amazing gift sans camera.

It is a memory I hold close with much joy, and although this image is far from the quality I would wish, it is one of my most treasured.

Thanks so much for all the support! I really do appreciate it! 😊

You can't have a theme name like this without an explanation as to why you have chosen your "treasured" item, can you?

Well, here goes.......!

Whenever I visited my mum it would invariably involve the sharing of a cuppa and a biscuit - so I'd dive to the fridge and would always admire this sweet butterfly magnet on the fridge door as I grabbed the milk. She's now 94 and in residential care but her fridge magnet is still treasured every time I now open my fridge door where it now rests its wings.

Many thanks for all views, fav's - and particularly comments - all are greatly appreciated!

Happy Macro Mondays to you all!

There is a place not far from here where strong men live lives of pleasure; not labor. A place where you could be feared and respected at the same time. Defined by history, the Pirate is distorted to fit their narrative as monsters. They seek richness by doing less. This is how they survive on The Isle of Shadows; coming out of the darkness to live their freedom with wealth of the coin and treasures from dramatic wars spread across oceans and select beaches. In the brute of the night the Pirate loses all lingering doubts. This is the place where he calls home.

You, too, can visit “The Isle of Shadows” at Fantasy Faire 2020! Is there hidden treasure there? Just go check for yourself! Read more and check out the Style Card here!

Being able to wander through someone else's garden, communing with nature and discovering tiny ground-level visual treats....what a grand way to spend some time finding treasures.

I am dusting and rearranging my toy shelves. When I took these Precious Places houses down I found TWO TVs inside that I didn't remember that I had!

Toy Sunday--theme: Hidden Treasures

a new object to be treasured, my dad has recently given me his treasured hand painted silk tie from the 1940's. Now to hang in my wardrobe as it did in his for as long as I can remember.

An American Flamingo is admired by many from the shore at Treasure Island.

Taken at Laguna Beach, CA.

A splash of backlit bokeh as the Spinebill led me on a slow chase around the garden this morning. Perhaps he was just sharing his treasures with me.

Captain Flint walked off the page of Treasure Island and off the deck of the Walrus. Flint of course was never alive at the time of Jim Hawkins but his legacy lives on as well as his buried treasure. To the first slide for Sliders Sunday in 2022, RRRrrrr mate!

This is a favorite spot for the Red-bellied Woodpeckers. The hollow in this dead branch must contain treasures to seek, because they spend a lot of time pecking away at this section of the tree.

This is a female, as seen by the patch of gray at top of her head. A male would have the red patch extend all the way over its crown.
