The complicated signals at Salt Lake Central Station on the UTA TRAX system. This is the terminus of the Blue Line.
On December 1st, 1999, Ride UTA's own little light rail system began operation, servicing a single corridor from Sandy to Salt Lake City. Since then, the system has gone through multiple line extensions, and now services multiple corners of Salt Lake County. One of those extensions is seen here, exactly 20 years later, as a single SD100-series "LRV" (Light Rail Vehicle) crosses over 700 East enroute to Draper Town Center Station.
A UTA TRAX ticket purchased at the Ballpark TRAX station at 1300 South. This ticket indicates a full fare ticket ($2.00) was purchased at 09:33 am (upper right corner, kind of cut off by the machine) at ticket machine 84 located at the Ballpark station. The expiration date and time are listed in larger print on the left.
Ride the train is in reference to FrontRunner, and some older stock exists, including at the Salt Lake Central station that mentions "Regional Commuter Rail coming soon!
