The Firehole River in Yellowstone National Park is one of two major tributaries of the Madison River. It flows north approximately 21 miles (34 km) from its source in Madison Lake on the Continental Divide to join the Gibbon River at Madison Junction.
The Firehole flows through several significant geyser basins in the park to include the Upper Geyser Basin, which contains the world-famous geyser Old Faithful. The river was named by early trappers for the steam that makes it appear to be smoking as if on fire.
The river is surrounded by geothermal features which empty water into it. One effect of the input of this water is to increase the temperature of the water. Temperatures in the river have been measured as high as 30 °C (86 °F) and average 5 to 10 °C (9 to 18 °F) higher than areas upstream of geothermal influence.

I love this scene. You can see part of the Sahale Arm trail as well as getting a sense of the steep climb just to get up to this part of the trail. Pelton Peak, Yawning Glacier, Magic Mountain, and Cache Col are large mountains and glaciers in the foreground with more mountains visible behind them.

Located on the north edge of the Flattops Wilderness in west central Colorado. Large fires swept thru this area several years ago. Many trees within the Flattops area were killed by beetles years ago. Over time, the trees have been polished by wind blown snow and the stands are called "The Silver Forest" due to the shine.

This is my son's rescue dog, Trapper. He lost his front leg in a trap and still has buckshot pellets in him from another encounter. He is an extremely calm dog. He's good with other dogs, people, and even children. Trapper loves his new bed.

Temiscaming Royals vs North Bay Trappers Sunday, February 14, 2010 at the Memorial Gardens, North Bay, Ontario.
In a special Valentines Day game there was no love for the Temiscaming Royals as the Junior ‘A’ Trappers won 9 – 4. Trappers goals scored by #17 Justin Dicks, #22 Jesse Cere, #10 JP Kascsak, #21 Dan Zawacki (2), #44 Sacha Guimond (2), #39 Zach Hunter and #9 Adam Marceau. Fans also had the chance to get a picture with the Olympic torch thanks to Sharon and Nick Fung of the North Bay North Stars.

Trappers play their next home game on Sunday February 21 at 7:00PM. The Trappers play the Manitoulin Islanders and celebrate aboriginal culture with a special mini-aboriginal game during the first intermission.
