The Monastery of Santa Maria d'Alcobaça, north of Lisbon, Portugal, was founded in the 12th century by King Alfonso I. It is considered a masterpiece of Cistercian Gothic art. The monastery is imbued with the ideal of ascetic simplicity advocated by Saint Bernard, a simplicity that the successive transformations made over the centuries have not altered.
King Alfonso Henriques captured the city of Santarém from the Moors in March 1147. To thank God for this victory, which opened the road to Lisbon, he promised to build a magnificent residence for the Cistercian order. It took 76 years to complete the work. Sixty years later, King Dinis had the main cloister built, and it was not until 1252 that the monastery was inaugurated.
The façade was renovated in the 18th century.

The Parque das Nações had plenty to keep people of all ages busy and the open space made for a pleasant break from the centre of Lisbon. I was particularly impressed with this water feature for it's preciseness.

From Wikipedia : "Parque das Nações (English: Park of the Nations) is a parish of the city of Lisbon, Portugal. It was created in 2012 from parts of the parishes Santa Maria dos Olivais (Lisbon), Sacavém and Moscavide (both part of Loures municipality). The population in 2011 was 21,025, in an area of 5.44 km².
A leisure, commercial, and residential area since the 1998 World Exposition it covers an extensive area in northeastern Lisbon next to the Tagus estuary, formerly used for mainly industrial purposes.
The area underwent a tremendous transformation in the 1990s when it was chosen as the location for the World Exhibition. After the exhibition, the area got its current name (although it is not uncommon for the Portuguese to still refer to it as "Expo"), and more transformations occurred such as the new Vasco da Gama shopping mall, the Lisbon's International Fair complex, hotels and many new office and residential buildings. Many attractions built for the Expo '98 remained and keep drawing visitors, such as the Oceanarium, one of the world's biggest aquariums."

The day my biggest nightmare became a reality is the day I realized I had not lived to be the person I wanted to be.
A photo meant to accompany a writing on transformation. I just couldn't find the words.
Ripening of a spicy pepper, going from dark green to red. The coloration takes a few days. At this moment the color is almost half half. But the pepper is spicy as it can be, hehe..
Behind the scenes: Took me a while to find the composition and angle that will show a good result. I took almost 90 shots, selected a few, and from these I chose this one.
