Capture from the westbound MAX platform along SW Morrison Street in the Pioneer District of downtown Portland.

A Via Rail train makes a stop in Northern Ontario.

Scanned from the original negative of a photo taken in the 1982.. This is a time exposure of an old Market-Frankford El train. Taken on a fall night as the train left 60th Street station and pulled into the 63rd and Market stop. When I first had this printed I was thrilled to see the guy in the window of the train looking out at me while taking this shot on the tripod. Taken in 1982 on Kodak color film with the Minolta XG-M.

Shot at the Gaslamp Quarter Trolley Station in San Diego. We walked 7.4 miles throughout the day. Sure glad we bought heavy toys to go in the backpack in the first hour!

Saturday in an effort to convert a friend to the "dark-side" of transit; becoming a bus foamer, him and I spent the rest of the afternoon at MUNI's West Portal station at the west end of the Market Street Rapid Transit Tunnel. During this hour or so rush we photographed transit in two different forms in every which way. Buses, and Light-Rail. It was interesting to see the interactions between the people and the two forms of transit as people were bustling everywhere as well as autos which were constantly dodging the moving buildings.

Of interest and what is neat about this location in San Francisco is the fact that its in a residential neighborhood with some mixed retail, and the fact that this is a cul-de-sac in one of the most dense cities in the world. It was very neat to watch, photograph and make the connections between people and transit. Every MUNI vehicle that passed us was packed and the trains - which my friend liked - were aplenty, as were my babies - these big, beautiful coaches.

I hope to open his eyes a bit more and change the misconceptions about buses in the mass transit arena. Buses are an integral part of moving people, while rail is nice, a bus system must be in place to feed into and support it when the need arises - which is often in this city - MUNI's four divisions can keep even the most "hard-core" and novice transit fan enthused for hours on end. Or in my case, my lifetime.

During our little tour down the "Museumsmeile" we found this little nice piece of modern architecture. I like the style of the tunnel, which is not quite symmetrical. This trains station is leading over the autobahn and the light stripes you see on the left and on the right are cars passing by. The next train was ours.

We live immersed in narrative, recounting and reassessing the meaning of our past actions, anticipating the outcome of our future projects, situating ourselves at the intersection of several stories not yet completed.

I don't think this little stop will prevent the train from falling off Pike's Peak...

On WPPD I took on the daylight some of my almost forgotten pinhole cameras.

Long forgotten “Deformator” – the tea box with peculiarly curved film that raises the POV up. This time I used it upside down as I was at footbridge above the rails and I wanted to make it seeing downwards.

Passing the MAX (Metropolitan Area Express) station at NE Holladay and the Oregon Convention Center. In the background, on of two of the convention center's glass spires which illuminate at night.

This was the last time I saw This structure before Santa Fe knocked it down.
