I'm still doing phone pics ... this one has been transferred to my S21 Ultra from two 'phones ago.' I really need to upload these a bit more often. The light illuminating the train was other worldly and magical - the camera on the phone didn't quite capture it but I like the photo nonetheless because I'm the one who felt the magic. Photos are memory sponges. :)

Q217-15 crosses the ancient Thomas Viaduct on a frigid February day.
After hearing that Q217 had an emd leader and it was tied at HX, I made my way over to see for myself. Upon arrival, a crew car left from where the train was tied, meaning the new crew was most likely taking over and the train would be off on the road soon. Since he would (probably) be leaving soon, I decided to camp out at the west side of the Thomas Viaduct, and about a half hour later the train reared its big head over the viaduct under the late afternoon sun. The photo result wasn't too bad.

I found this little train in a box with old toys. I think it was inside a Kinder Surprise egg. :)
This picture kind of sums up my style of photography: mirror, low DoF, negative space and black background (with low key). Check my photostream and you'll see what I mean. ;)
Feel free to take a look at some other pictures on my website!

Here is one of my first pictures with the Fujifilm Instax Mini 90. And a first "incident" on film (on the right top corner). I don't know what happened, maybe a little drop of rain, but I love that anomaly and my new camera!

I'm standin' on the railroad, waitin' for the Graveyard Train.
On the highway, thirty people turned to stone.

Oh, take me to the station, 'cause I'm number thirty-one."

After hearing that 4145 would be leading this afternoons 852, I got ready to leave to shoot it, however it seemed the weather decided to have a massive thunderstorm and some tornado like weather, causing severe alerts and backing interstate traffic up bad. I thought my chances of catching 4145 were as good as none.
However, 4145 was also not having a great time. Due to either the massive storms ahead, or a signaling issue (or both) the train was stopped outside of Riverdale for 20-30 minutes, allowing the storm to pass and giving me time to get trackside.
The product is a not half bad shot of P852 on the Thomas Viaduct.

Another sign that the holidays are here - the annual Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Gardens
The model trains zip around the tracks and pass around, over and underneath 150 New York and Hudson Valley buildings and bridges. The building partially visible in the background is the Old Penn Station.
This circus train was one of the many working models at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden, Colorado. They actually had working models of steam engines. This one was especially bright and cheerful. My time on Flickr has been very limited here lately. I have been diagnosed with a condition called Cervicalgia, which in laymans terms means pain in the neck. When I was a child my mother used to refer to me as her little pain in the neck. I never considered it to be a bad thing until now. After numerous trips to the chriopractor and a lot of deep massage, it seems to be a little better, so hope to be back with you soon. So sorry for not visiting your photostreams. I sincerely do miss my Flickr friends. The very best of the season to all and enjoy the circus.
