This is where the village of Traders Point used to stand, right north of Little Eagle Creek on Lafayette Road (then US 52). It's been gone since late 1960s.

Most of these photos will disappear later on further down my stream - but I feel this urge to tell what I witnessed : more photos to come yet from this big animal bazaar on the banks of the Tigris river near Diyarbakır - sorry if all this is too descriptive !
This group of photos is about traders, sometimes brothers or associates buying animals often in groups and selling them for profit. They have learnt the trade often from their father and their only tool is a pen, some notebook and a small counting machine ; some of them show signs of prosperity (elegantly dressed, nice wrist watch, latest mobile phone) but we travelled with some of them in the dolmuş (minibus, public transportation) driving us back to Diyarbakır, those ones did not seem rich at all. Hundreds of them, some more successful than others.
Trader Joes, for those unaware, is a grocery store chain, but it is unlike any other grocery store anyone has ever been in. It is weird, quirky, unique and cheap. The chain collects food worldwide and brings them to your neighborhood, but they have reached a dilemma. They were once considered to be a "mom & pop" store, but because they have grown quickly they are losing that feel. So this campaign just kind of attempts to capture the store behind Trader Joes.

The coffee shop next to a wholesale shopping center serves as a base of operation for traders from Africa, working one end of a trading chain that goes through Guangzhou, then Hong Kong, to ports in Africa.
