Thanks to John's perfectionism with the light setup and the loan of his Botero and other gear, I got a few good shots before I had to break it down because of the wind gusts inside the pavilion. Bummer, but Sherry helped pack it all up, so it didn't take too long to fold the tent.

Acadia Traders
New France hamlet, Busch Gardens Williamsburg, Williamsburg, VA
The Acadia Traders gift shop opened in winter 2016, featuring a selection of Canada-based merchandise; it also had a wine tasting bar during its' first few years, and while the bar itself is still intact they no do the tastings, instead just selling beer from behind the register area. The building was originally used as The Country Store Candle Shop, a store selling hand-carved candles that opened with the park in May 1975. It became The Bitter Root Company Store in 1984, though it appears that the candle carver still occupied a smaller portion of the salesfloor. The entire building became candle carver space again in the early 2010s when it was converted to The Village Candle Carver, which was relocated here in winter 2016.

Unregistered vehicles, site use only! Fitted with Telehoist telecrete bodies and used to take concrete from the batching plant to wherever needed on site. Looks to be liveried with the words NCC, which i think maybe Nuclear Construction Company. Picture dated 1961.

The Thames Trader was a range of trucks manufactured by Ford UK built between 1957 and 1965.
The distinctive cab design, which sets it apart from other British commercial vehicles, was a forward-control (or semi-forward control) design and the Thames Trader model covered a much wider weight range than the existing normal control ET Thames model or the earlier forward control 7V model. Both these earlier models had been based on Ford of America designs, the new Thames Trader was the first heavy commercial to be designed by Ford of Britain, (although if you look at the headlight surrounds of the American Ford C series truck of the mid 1950s there is a definite family resemblance).
The Thames Trader model range covered weights from 2 to 7 tons, powered by either petrol or diesel engines in four- or 6 cylinders guises. The lower weight vehicles were available with 118 and 138 inch wheelbases, the heavy weight vehicle with 138, 152 and 160 inch wheelbases, there was also a 108 inch tipper wheelbase. In addition there was also a low frame chassis model - typically used for furniture van bodywork.
A Ford Thames Trader in the National Coal Board Tanker service livery. Was this an idea that didn't find much favour? There is no clue as to the exact location but the door of the Trader is lettered "NCB West Midlands Division, North Warwickshire Area, Nuneaton." The photograph would be early 1960's.

I haven't eaten tamales since I was in Mexico in 1995 - but as I was heating these in the microwave, it smelled exactly like I remembered from that trip, so I hope they're good!

The Thames Trader was a truck built by the UK arm of the Ford Motor company. I found these three parked up on an old airfield and thought it could be out of a sales brochure.

Catching up with an old contact & he showed me this stunning Trader, authentic in every detail I think, how times change!!
A simple repaint of an EFE model, brush painted in standard Humbrol colours. The Ford Thames Trader was introduced in 2007 and has been produced in a fairly small number of variations; this one was a Marley Tiles lorry bought cheaply in the recent sell-off of surplus stock. The registration 28 COG is genuine and taken from a preserved example.
