VALDRESFLYA🇳🇴

Spring time and still a big touch of winter at the Valdreflya❄️

04:24am

Funny story about this time. We stayed near Beitostølen. The bed we had was terrible so we were awake really early. We said to each other shall we go to the Valdresflya. We are already awake. So lets go and we did. We had to go early if we wanted to see the sunset. Otherwise we would have missed it. And it was worth wile that morning🌞

"It's the sense of touch. In any real city, you walk, you know? You brush past people, people bump into you. In L.A., nobody touches you. We're always behind this metal and glass. I think we miss that touch so much, that we crash into each other, just so we can feel something. "

{ From the opening scene of the 2004 movie "Crash" }

Of the five senses, perhaps none is more exquisite than our sense of touch. It is the first to develop and the last to leave us. While sight and hearing are undoubtedly our most fundamental necessities, it is our unique ability to reach out – to affect others through time and space – that truly separate us. It gives us grace and defines our humanity. This week, I am deeply moved by the testimonials of Sarah and Rachel. Thank you both. I am humbled by your kind words. As the holiday season is upon us, let us not forget this simple act of love and kindness.

Have a wonderful weekend with your camera.

mimosa pudica

a creeping annual or perennial herb often grown for its curiosity value: the compound leaves fold inward and droop when touched, re-opening within minutes. Mimosa pudica is native to Brazil, but is now a pantropical weed.

pudica means bashful or shrinking beacause of its curious nature.

The plant lajjalu described in Ayurveda has been identified as Mimosa pudica. This plant has several alternate Sanskrit common names, including Namaskari, and Rakta Paadi.

In Ayurveda, the plant is described as a plant which folds itself when touched and spreads its leaves once again after a while. It is said to have a bitter and astringent taste, and has a history of use for the treatment of various ailments. Most commonly used is the root, but leaves, flowers, bark, and fruit can also be implemented.

Ayurvedan Properties (guna) of Lajjalu

* Has tikta and kashaya rasa (bitter and astringent taste).

* Has property of cold (sheetha).

* Balances kapha, pitta.

* Shushrutha has placed this plant in Priyangwambhastaadi gana.
