Macro Mondays: Star

A decade or so ago, I needed to adjust a sensor on my motorcycle. One of the screws was jammed up against the frame. So, I cut a torx bit that fit the screw down to the minimum length and used a 1/4 inch box wrench to turn it. I got the TPS adjusted and happily went on my way. Happy Crazy Tuesday.

Pozidrive -A screw drive is a system used to turn a screw.[1][2] At a minimum, it is a set of shaped cavities and protrusions on the screw head that allows torque to be applied to it. Usually, it also involves a mating tool, such as a screwdriver, that is used to turn it. The following heads are categorized based on commonality, with some of the less-common drives being classified as "tamper-resistant".

Most heads come in a range of sizes, typically distinguished by a number, such as "Phillips #00" or "Torx T5". These sizes do not necessarily describe a particular dimension of the drive shape, but are often arbitrary designations in the same sense as a "Size 8" dress.

Quite often people ask 'is it difficult to dismantle a camera?' or 'what kind of tools are needed?'

At first: I do not (try to) open modern cameras. They contain lots of electronics - usually not serviceable. Older cameras are better - a set of screwdrivers is enough. Most old cameras were built before Phillips, Pozidriv, Torx etc were invented. So a set of good flat blade type is enough. Some knowledge of proper use is, however, needed...

These too soft Torx T5 screws are used to secure the base cover of the Dell Precision 5570.

The white car now has 156,000 miles on it, having covered around 7,000 in the last year. Due to its high mileage and less than pristine appearance I'm aware that a time will come when it is no longer economic to keep it on the road. This was not the year however, and the only things it failed on were a marginal tyre and the contentious number plate. The only other money I spent on the car during the year were a set of wiper blades (50p each from the scrapyard; unworn Bosch items}, although I did spend a few hours taking off the door panels and lubricating door locks and window winders. This necessitated the purchase of a set of Torx screwdrivers, which IIRC was around £15,

The blue car has 80,700 miles and covered less than 400 in the year, which almost leads me to conclude that it's a waste of money keeping it on the road. It needed 3/4 of the brake pipes replacing and a new wheel cylinder for the MOT at a cost of over three times what the test for the white car cost. It also had a set of wiper blades in the year (same source and price) and a new battery (£15 from the scrapyard; less £5 trade in on the old battery; somewhat of a better deal than a retailer who CHARGES you £5 to take the old battery....)

So....£400 ish on MOTs, £300 ish on two lots of insurance, £145 tax on the blue one (the white one is taxed into next year...but I did have to tax the ZX in June); it's been an expensive month. And the TV licence needed renewing.....

Sissy maid barbie wearing her lime green satin uniform (trimmed with white satin and lace) for the first time. She has been trained (with a posture collar) to keep her head up, but at the same time direct her eyes downwards, she must never look her Mistress in the eye, this would be severely punished. She must always smile and look pretty for Mistress Lady Penelope's benefit, nobody wants an ugly or sullen sissy maid.

You can see her stainless steel slave collar which is secured with two pin torx security screws which must both be removed to remove the collar. Naturally Mistress Lady Penelope holds the key where there is no chance of the maid getting it.

The nametag states "24/7 live-in maid sissy barbie to Mistress Lady Penelope". A similar badge on her florentine chastity belt adds "Property of Mistress Lady Penelope"

The Buzzby Racer : This entry in the Micro Class of the Rangtar Rally Challenge of 2344 is a crowd favorite. Pilot Reggie ’Torx’ Terrington has raced in all three of the size classes but prefer the speed and agility of the Micro Class. We're proud to once again be collaborating with Haley Strategic Partners on one of the most unique fighting blades to ever hit the market – the Darter! Combining Travis Haley’s tactical experience and expertise with Toor’s premium bladesmithing capabilities, this knife features iconic reverse serrations on the spine, which offer an extremely sharp solution to fighting with the back of the knife while avoiding the restrictions on a double-edged blade.

Constructed out of CPM S35VN steel and heat-treated to approximately 60 Rockwell, the Darter is stout enough to tackle any task. This new variant of the knife is fitted with a black G10 handle and red liners, and it's machined with a texture to match the Darter Dragonfly’s wing pattern, while simultaneously providing excellent grip when operating in wet conditions.

The knife’s midsize permits easy placement on your gear without compromising real estate, and each blade includes a black Toor Knives FlexTech KYDEX® sheath, featuring a retention adjustability screw and friction offset to reduce blade rattle inside the sheath. Complementing the sheath is mounting hardware and an UltiClip Slim 3.3 mount and rounding out the Darter package is a laser-cut loop which has been designed to sandwich your sheath into your gear.

Several other key features of this blade include a retention lanyard hole, thumb jimping on the spine and butt end of the blade, stainless steel torx handle screws, a KG Gunkote spray finish, and both companies' logos laser-engraved on the blade. Last, but not least, every single Darter is finished with an individual serial number marking a piece of history from this iconic partnership.

These knives are tools of a warrior, works of art, and extremely collectible

Some shots just turn out perfectly. You always wonder how to do that over and over again. Here you can see the type of screw that holds the little red LED tail lights to the carbon. (Torx), and you can count the LEDs down the edge of the tail wing supports.

Canadians, eh?
