Torx screws.
Not sure what alloy these are made of but they are very interesting when photographed in the sun. Each screw head is 1/4 inch.

Macro Mondays theme: Stars.
Really close-up of Torx bits, to get this close I put 3 Torx bits on reflective black glass and got in really close, I photo stacked together 14 images, unfortunately I may have been a picture short as one part is a little soft hopefully not to noticeable.
My attempt at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Redux 2022", combining the themes "My Closest" and "Star".
Just to give a sense of scale for this tiny star, the torx bit is around 2 mm in diameter.

This Torx size 20 bit is almost 4mm across. I have smaller sizes, but this one is teeny enough. lol.. It’s part of my tiny screwdriver bit set that I originally bought for working inside computers. But now I also use it to open parts of the action figures I have that have LED lights. Some of their eyes light up, etc.

Did not not know what is a torx until I had to disassemble
my labtop due to a defect battery;this is the screw which did not fit anymore at the end

The business end of a star shaped T-25 Torx security bit. Sorta looks like a fancy gun barrel! This was a moment of adaption. I used an old Pentax film era lens, an SMC FA f3.5-5.6 28-80mm, with a NEEWER macro adapter screwed onto the end of the lens. That in turn was attached to a K&F Concept PK to A mount adaptor that I just got, which was attached to a Sony SLT-A57. Phew! A long and winding road to the photo! lol. I just wanted to play around with this combination some, thought this theme was a good time for it. I have several other old Pentax lenses that I want to try on the ol Sony. Now I have my chance!

For Macro Monday the challenge was "Star". I was unsure of what to do other than something that incorporated a lego piece/figure, until needing to work on the chicken/duck coop.
As I repaired the door that my daughter and one of her friends had broken I noticed the star screws that I had used to build it. Ah ha.
In a row is a tool study of Torx pins at work. Captured with a Canon FD 100mm Macro f4 and a light from a Lume Cube
This Torx head measures .185" or 4.699 mm. I have made Torx bolts for the automotive industry, but nothing this small.
Torx is a trademark for a type of screw drive characterized by a 6-point star-shaped pattern, developed in 1967 by Camcar Textron. A popular generic name for the drive is star, as in star screwdriver or star bits. The official generic name, standardized by the International Organization for Standardization as ISO 10664, is hexalobular internal. This is sometimes abbreviated in databases and catalogs as 6lobe (starting with the numeral 6, not the capital letter G). Torx Plus, Torx Paralobe and Torx ttap are improved head profiles.
Torx screws are commonly found on automobiles, motorcycles, bicycle brake systems (disc brakes), hard disk drives, computer systems and consumer electronics. Initially, they were sometimes used in applications requiring tamper resistance, since the drive systems and screwdrivers were not widely available; as drivers became more common, tamper-resistant variants, as described below, were developed. Torx screws are also becoming increasingly popular in construction industries.
